The Worli dome turned into a dancefloor

The open-air velodrome at the National Sports Club of India ended up covered by a column-free, air-conditioned arena. Today that box, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, operates as Dome SVP Stadium: it is not a club with a weekly schedule, but the indoor pavilion where Mumbai hosts stadium-scale electronic nights, facing the Worli sea and the Nehru Planetarium.

A 3,500 m² floor and twelve meters of clearance

The central floor totals about 38,000 square feet—more than 3,500 m²—under 12 meters of clearance, within a venue of around 9,300 m². The removal of pillars, designed by Shashi Prabhu & Associates when replacing the open stadium, allows for circular stages, perimeter LED, and capacities that jump from seated theater to standing. The operator details eight dressing rooms plus four VIP ones, two adjoining rooms of about 430 m² and event parking for 500 cars. The postal access is Lala Lajpatrai Marg, in Lotus Colony. The indoor facility was inaugurated in 2013, after a decade of construction; the Dome brand has been active since 2012.

From Knife Party to Tiësto: electronic music takes over the concrete

In April 2015, Knife Party and The Bloody Beetroots headlined the Smirnoff Experience. That same year, the launch of the BMW i8 at the NSCI closed with Steve Aoki and Blasterjaxx. On May 27, 2016, Don't Let Daddy Know debuted in India with Steve Angello, ARTY and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. In September, Nucleya presented Raja Baja at a free launch that saturated the RSVPs. More recently, the venue has absorbed Hugel, the audiovisual set by ARTBAT, Tiësto in January 2026 and the Circus Festival (December 2025) with Jamie Jones, Monolink, I Hate Models, Maceo Plex and Klangkuenstler. In 2024, Technosphere converted it for one night into an immersive club with a 360-degree rotating stage: proof that the pavilion behaves like a nightclub when the production demands it.

The same cube for sports and raves

The arena is home to U Mumba in the Pro Kabaddi League and the Mumbai Masters in badminton. In October 2019, it hosted the first NBA games in India, between the Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers. Disney premiered Beauty and the Beast here, and the calendar mixes musicals, stand-up, awards, and the Dome Dandiya Nites. There is no fixed club schedule: it opens according to the event, and electronic music—house, techno, bass, and big room—enters when a festival or a headliner needs an indoor dancefloor in the center of Mumbai.
