A park open to the Río de la Plata

On November 3, 2013, the Vorterix Reggae Fest officially debuted Mandarine Park in front of more than 12,000 people. It wasn't just another venue on the Costanera: it was an open-air site within Punta Carrasco, designed to set up stages facing the Río de la Plata, with no neighbors to negotiate volume with and the water as a horizon. That inauguration—with Alpha Blondy, The Skatalites, Alborosie, Los Cafres, and Nonpalidece—made clear the gap it came to fill: a large-format venue, away from the dense fabric of Palermo, with its own parking and views that work both by day and at dawn.

From the Mandarine nightclub to the large-scale venue

The Park was born from an agreement between MTS Producciones and the operators of Punta Carrasco, with Pety Peltenburg and Roberto Fernández, historic figures of the Buenos Aires nightlife scene from Crobar and Rainbow. They reserved the Mandarine nightclub and electronic festivals for themselves; the park opened up to rock, reggae, and, above all, nights that last until sunrise. In about 7,000 square meters, the stage can be oriented toward the city or toward the river. There are elevated terraces, a VIP area that each production sets up to its own specifications, and loading logistics designed for international productions. Shortly after, Mandarine Tent was consolidated, the permanent indoor tent next to the Park, so as not to depend on the coastal wind.

The Costanera as a techno and house dance floor

Electronic music turned the place into one of the great open-air dance floors in Buenos Aires. Resistance, the underground concept from Ultra, made Mandarine Park its Buenos Aires headquarters: in 2017, Sasha and John Digweed, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and Joseph Capriati performed; in 2022, the series returned with the weight of Drumcode. In November 2022, Charlotte de Witte's KNTXT filled the venue with techno. In April 2023, Tale of Us's Afterlife sold out three consecutive nights, with Anyma presenting the GENESYS show. The venue has also hosted RÜFÜS DU SOL, Above & Beyond, Adam Beyer, Len Faki, and Robert Hood. The calendar remains marked by house, techno, and large-format audiovisual show dates.

Flagship outdoor, programming by event

Punta Carrasco presents Mandarine Park today as its largest-scale open-air space, prepared for concerts, festivals, and large-magnitude productions. It does not operate as a nightclub with a fixed lineup: it opens according to programming. Access is at Av. Costanera Rafael Obligado 1221, at the intersection with Sarmiento, on the banks of the water and a step away from the Aeroparque. The covered Tent, in the same complex, allows that scale to be moved indoors when the Costanera weather does not cooperate.
