The Monoloco Fest Phenomenon: Creating a Festival from Scratch
Creating a music festival from scratch poses a monumental challenge in the current entertainment industry. After the pandemic, the cancellation of traditional university parties in León drove two young entrepreneurs, Héctor Herrero and Diego Bajo, to found Monoloco Fest. What began as a local alternative at the city's bullring, with an initial attendance of four thousand people, has rapidly transformed into a benchmark event.
The development of this independent project has required overcoming numerous bureaucratic and logistical obstacles, from obtaining permits to booking artists and DJs in a highly competitive market. The growth strategy has been based on aggressive guerrilla marketing, the intelligent use of social media, and an eclectic musical proposal that combines emerging talent with established figures.
As the event consolidates, the professionalization of its internal structure becomes crucial to ensure its viability. The transition from an amateur initiative to a consolidated promoter involves dealing with increasingly inflated artist fees and complex technical requirements, all without losing the original essence that connected with its audience.
