Biography of Circoloco

The Craziest Monday in the World

Circoloco is, without a doubt, the most famous underground party on the planet. Its history is the history of club culture resistance in its purest state. Born in 1999 at the DC-10 club in Ibiza, at the hands of Italian promoters Antonio Carbonaro and Andrea Pelino, Circoloco emerged with a clear mission: to offer a real, raw alternative to the commercialization and VIP "posturing" that was beginning to dominate the island.

They chose what seemed like the worst possible day: Monday morning. While the rest of the island slept off the weekend hangover, a revolution began to brew in a small venue at the end of the airport runway. Planes passing just meters above the clubbers' heads became the symbol of a collective madness that would soon attract pilgrims from all over the world.

Philosophy and Musical Style: No Soul No Story

Circoloco's motto is legendary: "Sorry we are Circoloco". Its original philosophy was anti-promotion: no dancers, no megatron, no VIP areas (initially). Just quality music and energy. The iconic "The Clown" became its logo, symbolizing fun madness and the freedom to be yourself.

Musically, Circoloco is the mecca of the most avant-garde Tech House, Deep House, and Techno. They don't look for the easy "hit," but rather the infinite groove. They have been responsible for elevating generations of artists: The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Luciano, Tania Vulcano, or Loco Dice owe much of their superstar status to these Monday sessions.

Highlighted Events: The Monday Mass

Going to Circoloco at DC-10 is a rite of passage. The party begins in the afternoon in the Garden, an outdoor space where the atmosphere is electric and tribal, then moves indoors (Terrace and Main Room) until sunrise. The Circoloco "Openings" and "Closings" are, for many, the true thermometer of the Ibiza season.

The brand has transcended the island and now organizes "showcases" in the main capitals of fashion and culture: New York, Milan, London, Tokyo. Its collaboration with fashion brands like Off-White demonstrates its cultural impact beyond music.

Impact on the Scene

Circoloco defined the "underground" sound of the 2000s and 2010s. It kept the flame of authentic club culture alive when EDM threatened to homogenize everything. It is the bastion of credibility, the place where DJs want to play not for the money, but for the prestige. It is, simply put, the party of parties.
