A white garden under the pyramid

A large pyramidal roof over the seafront of San Antonio Abad announces an interior that has always resisted the black box model. Es Paradis organizes the night among white columns, vegetation, and different levels, like a Mediterranean garden built around dancing. The architecture directs eyes toward the main dance floor and turns the audience into part of a common set design. That theatrical character explains the nickname of the most beautiful nightclub in the world, linked both to its image and to a way of understanding the club as a spatial experience.

From open sky to an Ibiza silhouette

Inaugurated in 1975, the venue was born from the collaboration between businessman José Manuel Aguirre and artist Lluís Güell, a decisive figure in its aesthetic conception. The original project operated completely outdoors, surrounded by gardens and vegetation, and was integrated into the first generation of venues that helped define the international projection of the Ibiza night. Acoustic regulations forced it to be covered in 1990. From that adaptation emerged its most recognizable architectural feature: the retractable pyramid, a solution that preserved the relationship with light and nature without erasing the initial identity of the space.

When the dance floor turns into water

Its most unique ritual is the Fiesta del Agua, a historic night in which the dance floor ends up flooded and the dancing continues inside the water. It is not just a resident brand: the format is linked to the infrastructure and physical layout of the venue, with the public arranged around a dance floor that changes function during the session. That playful vocation also defines a less rigid programming than that of other large clubs on the island. Its seasons feature house, trance classics, hip hop, R&B, afrobeats, reggaeton, and themed parties, with more emphasis on the collective experience and the show than on dependence on a single headliner.

Half a century without becoming a museum

After celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, Es Paradis remains active in the 2026 season, with regular nightlife programming, three dance floors, several VIP areas, multiple bars, and complementary services. Its central location, near the port and the bus station, integrates it directly into local nightlife. On an island where numerous venues have changed names, ownership, or concepts, its continuity since the seventies grants it a place of its own in Ibiza club culture: a space recognizable by its architecture, by the physical relationship between water and dance floor, and by an idea of visual hedonism that has been adapting for more than five decades without renouncing its original setting.
