A hardgroove pulse between Granada and the old school

The hardgroove of the late nineties and early two thousands runs through Giacomo Stallone's identity: direct percussion, firm bass, and a concept of techno designed for physical dancefloors, without losing the connection to club tradition. Born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1987, to an Italian father and a Spanish mother, he has lived in Granada since 1996, the city from which he has built a career connected to the Spanish scene and the international circuit of more functional techno.

From the first decks to his own labels

His relationship with the DJ booth began very early: in 1996 he acquired his first mixer and, a few years later, consolidated his professional activity as a DJ. In 2002 he began his phase as a producer, releasing music on different labels until gaining greater visibility in 2010 with Back to 2002, released on Kazoo Records, and Intensive Attack, released on his own label Undershape Records. From that stage on, his name became associated with a line of raw, rhythmic, and analog-vocation techno, with references linked to labels such as Alchemy, Patterns, Bitten, Emphatic Records, Special Series, and Backspin Recordings.

Catalog, booth, and resistance to trendy formats

In addition to Undershape Records, his activity as a label manager has extended to Audio Stuff Recordings, Endpunkt Records, and MTGA, an acronym for Make Techno Great Again, a platform oriented towards recovering the energy of old-school techno and releasing material with a direct approach. His catalog exceeds a hundred tracks and combines digital references with vinyl editions, remixes, and collaborations. In recent years he has maintained constant activity with releases such as Quartz, Deceiver, Throwback, Funkaholic EP, Destiny, Once Again, Out Of The System, and Mystic Voodoo, distributed among labels such as Tronic, Transfiguration Recordings, MTGA, Undershape Records, RAW PULSE RECORDINGS, and Code Records.

A recognizable signature on the Spanish dancefloor

As a DJ, he has performed in spaces and events linked to the national techno scene, with appearances at Florida 135, Code World Tour, Industrial Copera, Basik, Escada, Amadis, and other clubs. His history of lineups places him alongside figures from different generations of techno, including Jeff Mills, Mauro Picotto, Umek, Cristian Varela, Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Christian Smith, Jay Denham, Raúl Mezcolanza, and David Moleón. That combination of booth craft, constant production, and management of his own labels defines his current position: a profile of DJ, producer, and label manager focused on keeping a hard, groovy sound alive that is resistant to the wear and tear of trends.
