Complejo Embrujo

Walls, palm trees, and circus canvas

Attached to the A-338, on the road connecting Las Gabias with La Malahá, Complejo Embrujo deploys a nightlife venue that does not look like an urban center club: circus tent, dance floors among palm trees, and an industrial-style indoor club. In the main courtyard, a scaled Lion Fountain coexists with Nasrid-inspired volumes. The complex—today signed as Complejo Embrujo—is the same plot that for years was known as Embrujo Copas.

Five venues for the same night

Activity started with a summer terrace license in 2003 and a winter nightclub license in 2004. That double skin continues to structure the interior map. The Circo occupies 1,100 m² and admits 3,000 people; the Carpa, 1,200 m² and 4,500, is the space where the venue itself places the largest format electronic setups. The Oasis, 3,500 m² outdoors, reaches 7,000 and hosts the large stages. Babilonia, a 2,000 m² terrace for 3,000 people, concentrates a dance floor, podiums, VIP reserved areas, and a stage attached to the DJ booth. The indoor Club adds 2,500 m² and 4,500 capacity, with a dance floor, stage, and indoor VIP area. Around it are gardens, a restaurant, and parking.

Granada parties here

Circus Nation celebrated its first edition under that name in 2011 precisely at this venue, and has used it as a regular headquarters due to the space that allows for opening new stages. The Carpa is also the territory of DOMO, the techno, industrial, and hard techno macro-event that has brought lineups with Richie Hawtin or DJ Rush to Las Gabias. The venue has also hosted urban events like Infierno Festival. The venue is the physical container: parties come and go; the walls, the canvas, and the terrace remain.

Rave calendar, not a fixed Saturday

Current programming is articulated by dates—DOMO, Circus, Urania, Winter Festival, Halloween, or Embrujo Festival—rather than an invariable commercial night. Large closings are scheduled around 07:00. Those who arrive do so by road, a few minutes from Granada capital, to a stable venue in the valley that has gone from summer drinks to large-scale clubbing infrastructure.
