Pool, glass, and boardwalk

The glass edge of Ocean Casino Resort serves as the backdrop for HQ² Beachclub: an outdoor platform designed so that the architecture of the casino, the pool, and the boardwalk are part of the experience. The venue occupies about 45,000 square feet in North Beach, with access from the boardwalk and a layout that combines a main pool, bungalows with private pools, daybeds, and more than thirty VIP sections spread between lower and upper decks. Its scale does not respond to the format of a dark and closed club, but to the language of the dayclub: natural light, bodies in the water, a front DJ booth, and a dance floor that expands around the pool.

The second life of daylife in Atlantic City

The 2018 opening positioned HQ² Beachclub as the contemporary version of the HQ concept in the complex renamed Ocean Casino Resort. The inauguration with Kaskade and the push of names like Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano marked from the beginning a vocation for large programming, closer to Las Vegas and Miami than to the classic beach bar circuit. Since then, its calendar has orbited around EDM, house, large-format techno, and top 40 artists, with announced performances by Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Fisher, Gordo, Meduza, Cloonee, or Kettama. The sister venue, HQ² Nightclub, covers the indoor night shift; Beachclub concentrates the culture of pool, summer, and open-air DJ booths.

A system prepared for salt and SPL

The most recognizable technical element of the space is its distributed 1 SOUND system, installed to cover an open venue exposed to the Atlantic in a homogeneous way. The configuration combines Contour CT212 and CT28 boxes, SUB2112 and CSUB610 subwoofers, Tower columns, and specific reinforcement for bars, VIP areas, and cabanas. The solution replaced more voluminous temporary setups and sought two clear objectives: to maintain sound pressure for international DJs and to reduce rebounds against the glass facade. IP55 protection and resistance to the saline environment are a relevant part of its technical identity, because sound is not understood here separately from the coastal climate.

Season, door, and experience

HQ² Beachclub functions as a seasonal venue in Atlantic City, with activity concentrated on weekends, holidays, and major dates of the summer season. The door requires guests to be over 21, wearing swimwear or smart-casual attire, and has a strict policy against sportswear, jeans, baggy clothing, or items inappropriate for a pool. Its experience mixes resort spectacle, VIP culture, and high-budget electronic programming; it is not a traveling party or an external promoter, but a physical space integrated into Ocean Casino Resort that acts as a daylife showcase for the New Jersey coast.
