Dawn with the roof open

When the retractable roof is pulled back and the light streams in, the Jesolo dancefloor stops being just an enclosed venue: the sunrise becomes part of the ilMuretto ritual. DJ Mag has described it as an open-air coliseum, and that architecture—a club that turns into an open-air space—explains why the dawn here is a dancefloor moment as recognizable as the programming itself. The venue is organized into two dancefloors, with a terrace and a DJ booth that, on big nights, is very close to the crowd.

From karts to the Dolce Vita

Vasco Bettin built the venue in 1961 on an old kart track, on Via Roma Destra, in the Ca' Crema area of Lido di Jesolo. In the first decades, it was not yet the electronic temple recognized today: the stage hosted Ray Charles, James Brown, Mina, Equipe 84, Barry White, Gloria Gaynor or Adriano Celentano, and later names like Vasco Rossi and Patty Pravo. Il Muretto became the center of the Jesolo Dolce Vita and a magnet for young people from all over the Veneto region.

Fire, handover and the turn to 4/4

In 1991 a fire devastated the building. It was rebuilt in a short time and Bettin passed the baton to his sons Nicola and Andrea. The great sound shift arrived in 1998, when the venue surrendered to the pulse of house and techno. Since then, the booth has hosted Carl Cox, Frankie Knuckles, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Peggy Gou, Solomun or The Martinez Brothers, as well as international formats like Circoloco, Elrow or Paradise.

A season that carries weight again

After the management change in 2022, Snackulture took the reins and in 2024 bought the property, closing 63 years of family ownership. The current system is d&b audiotechnik, renovated along with the LED wall and lighting; the Terrace has been recovered as an open-air space. The club reappeared in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs (96th place in 2026). The season is concentrated mainly on Saturdays from spring to autumn, with house and techno as the line and resident figures like Germano Ventura and Marco Zabeo.
