The Mediterranean figure of the hat that presides over its public image summarizes a trajectory rare in Spanish leisure. Penelope Discoteca Benidorm opened in 1968, when Benidorm was still transforming into a tourist capital, and grew in parallel with the city. In the late 70s, with Emilio García at the helm, the venue expanded its dimensions and established itself as a benchmark of the Levantine night. That historical continuity explains why the venue does not function only as a seasonal nightclub, but as a recognizable piece of the nocturnal memory of the Costa Blanca.

A large, Mediterranean, and compartmentalized venue

Its scale is one of the features that distinguishes it most: the complex occupies 16,000 m² of land and has 4,000 m² built. The Main Room is a covered area with 25,000 W of sound, DJ booth, stage, dressing rooms, dance floor, six bars, boutique, and numerous VIP areas. The experience is completed with a terrace with seven bars and more relaxed music, a restaurant for 500 diners, a pool area surrounded by vegetation, an outdoor grill, and parking for 1,000 cars. This layout allows the same night to combine a central dance floor, reserved areas, pre-dinner, Mediterranean outdoors, and private events.

From dance music to the summer festival

Penelope's musical identity has followed the evolution of Spanish commercial clubbing: from the pop and disco music of its first decades to the dance music of the 90s and the great electronic productions of the 21st century. National and international artists and DJs have passed through its booth and stage, while its recent calendar alternates summer openings, Latin and urban festivals, electronic music events, and special nights associated with brands like Vértigo or KLUSTER. The club avoids a purely underground reading: its strength is in the mix of large format, tourist public, remember culture, accessible electronics, and spectacle.

Benidorm as a permanent stage

The arrival of Penelope Beach Club in the mid-80s, on the front line of Levante Beach, expanded the brand's imagery, but the nightclub on the road remains the parent venue. There, the physical scale that turned Penelope into a local myth is preserved: a recognizable architecture, several consumption and dance areas, terrace, pool, and a program that is activated by events. In today's Benidorm, its role remains linked to large summer flows and Mediterranean club culture, with a proposal designed for high-capacity nights and massive celebrations.
