A street of fabrics and an improvised plan

When the Rua de Cândido dos Reis still smelled of fabric warehouses and the Baixa of Porto emptied at nightfall, a ruined shop next to the Clérigos began to fill with friends with a password. Architects and artists rented number 30 in 2006 to set up a cultural association with exhibitions, concerts, and a dancefloor. The name came from a flyer found on the walls: Plano B. The public inauguration was on December 7, 2006. What was born to fill a nocturnal void ended up pushing the scene toward the Galerías de París.

The Cube, the Stage, and the welcome gallery

The venue is spread over two floors and three rooms with different climates. Upstairs, the Gallery functions as an arrival area: lower music, drinks, conversation, and visual arts. Downstairs is the action. The Cube room concentrates the house and techno programming. The Stage room opens with concerts—from jazz to rock, experimental electronic, or hip-hop—and then drifts toward non-electronic sets. Benches from an old Protestant church, a classic statue in the center of the ground floor, and a disco ball mark an eclectic interior. There is a cloakroom, several bars, and, since the 2022 renovation, a larger stage and projection screen.

From Kerri Chandler to The Blessed Madonna

The house never labeled itself as a single genre. Jamie xx, Peaches, Kerri Chandler, Move D, John Talabot, Todd Terje, Kevin Saunderson, Modeselektor, Blawan, or Objekt have passed through the Cube. Nights by Linda Martini, Capicua, The Legendary Tigerman, or B Fachada remained on the Stage. Today it is programmed by Rúben Costa, with residents like Semedo, Nuno Lopes, Rui Trintaeum, Tiago Cruz, Gustavo, and Serginho. In 2021-2022 Ricardo Costa took over the management, renovated sound and lighting, and reinforced the concerts without abandoning clubbing. Outside the door, the Mercadinho dos Clérigos has occupied the street since 2007.

Twenty years with the lights still on

In 2026 the venue celebrates two decades with a cycle that crosses dancefloor and stage: from Gilles Peterson to The Blessed Madonna, from John Talabot to Jen Cardini. It remains a downtown club, open according to the lineup, where the street becomes an improvised terrace and the audience mixes tribes. It is not a party brand or a festival: it is a physical, compact, and active venue, anchored to number 30 of Cândido dos Reis.
