From Moondance to a home of its own for queer nightlife

Behind the door of Calle de la Aduana 21, the old Moondance found a second life as the stable home of Skin Club. The project was born in 2021 within the Stardust circuit and grew first in other venues, especially in Strong the Club, before making the leap to its own venue. In January 2025, the Aduana 21 room was presented as a space built by and for Skin: a renovated, conditioned, and soundproofed room to sustain weekly programming with a recognizable identity.

A dance floor crossed by desire, techno, and consent

The musical axis of Skin moves around techno, club electronic music, and high-intensity night formats, with programming where names like Reitze, DJ TURBO, NETN, RMXR, and Theia Daja appear recurrently. The proposal is not defined only by the booth: the room works on an idea of club culture where dancing, intimacy, and gender expression are part of the same language. Its audience comes mainly from the Madrid queer scene, with a black, fetishistic, and performative aesthetic that functions as an entry filter and as a common code within the dance floor.

Darkness, play areas, and clear rules

The interior combines a main room with a dance floor and DJ with darker side spaces and regulated intimacy zones. Skin publishes a strict set of rules based on respect, well-being, and safety, and allows BDSM practices only in a private play area with specific furniture and under the protocol of sensible, safe, and consensual practices. The door requires a fetish/kinky code and advance tickets do not guarantee access if the room rules are not met. The prohibition of photographing and covering mobile phone cameras reinforces privacy, a central feature in a club where community trust weighs as much as the programming.

Center of Madrid, contained scale, and own scene

Skin occupies a unique place on the nightlife map of Madrid: it is in the heart of the Center, a few minutes from Sol, Sevilla, and Gran Vía, but operates with a logic closer to small-format sex-positive clubs than to the large commercial nightclub. Its cultural value lies in having stabilized a community that started as a traveling night and now has a recognizable, renovated venue linked to queer resistance. The room does not compete for size or spectacularity; its identity is built at the door, in the care of boundaries, and on a dance floor where hedonism is articulated through precise rules.
