The electro beat that cannot be tamed

Few producers have connected abrasive electro, the pulse of Berlin techno, and the scale of major stages as naturally as Boys Noize. His music starts from a direct idea: sharp synthesizers, physically pressurized bass, tense drum machines, and a club attitude that retains a punk edge even when moving in massive circuits. That identity has allowed him to remain between the underground and pop without losing a recognizable sonic signature.

Hamburg, Berlin, and an independence turned into a method

Alexander Ridha was born in Hamburg and consolidated his career from Berlin, a city that ended up being the natural center of his activity as a DJ, producer, and label head. He started DJing very young and worked in early stages under the alias Kid Alex before establishing the name Boys Noize as his main platform. In 2005, he founded Boysnoize Records, a key label for releasing his own material and building a network of artists around an aesthetic of hard, hedonistic, and uncompromising electronic music. His 2007 album Oi Oi Oi opened a period of great impact for European electro house, followed by Power, Out Of The Black, Mayday, and +/-, albums that expanded his vocabulary toward techno, acid, EBM, house, and more hybrid forms of electronic song.

Collisions with pop, rap, cinema, and industrial noise

Boys Noize's trajectory is also understood through his alliances. With Skrillex, he formed Dog Blood, with Chilly Gonzales he developed Octave Minds, and with Mr. Oizo, he released music as Handbraekes. Additionally, he has collaborated with or produced for artists such as A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean, Lady Gaga, Rico Nasty, Tommy Cash, Shygirl, Kelsey Lu, Erol Alkan, and Chilly Gonzales, and has remixed names like Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Justice, Feist, and Nine Inch Nails. His relationship with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross was reinforced with Challengers [MIXED] and the Nine Inch Noize phase, expanding his language into the territories of soundtracks, industrial rock, and audiovisual spectacle.

From the booth to the rave future laboratory

As a DJ, Boys Noize maintains a physical reading of the dancefloor: high-voltage sets, pressure changes, hard-hitting techno, electro, acid house, and cuts that dialogue with rap, breakbeat, or contemporary club music. He has performed in spaces and festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Berghain, Fuji Rock, Boiler Room, and DGTL, alternating between large stages and club contexts. In 2025, he opened a new phase with ONES and ZEROS, a label and community concept oriented toward new forms of cultural circulation, 140 bpm techno, and out-of-format collaborations. His current position combines three roles: historical figure of modern electro, transversal producer for global artists, and agitator of a scene that continues to understand the rave as a field for experimentation.
