Percussion from the motherland, British rave voltage

The sound of KILIMANJARO hits like a drum break: African polyrhythms, dark rave synths, and a booth presence that demands attention. Born in London and shaped in the Scottish scene, the Zambian-Scottish DJ and producer has turned what he calls Sounds of the Motherland into one of the most recognizable signatures of British Afro House, blending amapiano, house, and tech house in the same set.

From Our Future Glory to Glasgow residencies

He started playing drums at twelve and spent a decade in bands across Scotland—including Our Future Glory, signed to Wall of Sound—until, in 2016, an after-party in Ibiza compelled him to learn how to DJ. He returned as a resident at FLY (Edinburgh) and La Cheetah (Glasgow). In 2021, he founded the KILIMANJARO MUSIC platform at that same Glasgow club to promote Black, racialized, female, and other marginalized artists. After the pandemic, he moved to London and rebuilt his schedule between Scotland and the capital, with Pleasurehood at XOYO and a four-week residency at Phonox.

Fred again.., gold with Jazzy, and the jump to Capitol

In July 2022, Fred again.. invited him to his London Boiler Room: the set surpassed 1.5 million views and launched him internationally. That year, "Muleña" with Hammer was released; in 2023, "Channel Z" with Junior Simba and "Hit Em with It" on Higher Ground. In 2024, he signed a long-term deal with Capitol / Universal, released the EP Yoruba Riddim with Melé on Warehouse Project Records, and "No Bad Vibes" with Jazzy exploded, achieving gold record status in the UK. The EP Makalelo (Origins) (2025)—origins, in Lozi—and Kusambila (First Phase) cemented his roots narrative; he remixed Moby, PinkPantheress, and Amber Mark, and debuted on the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.

Coachella, Lusaka, and the mountain live

2025 took him to Coachella, Glastonbury, a headline show at fabric, EDC Las Vegas, HARD Summer, DC-10, and Ushuaïa, in addition to the electronic music award at the Scottish Music Awards. In 2026 came the nomination for Best Electronic Act at the MOBOs, his first concerts in Lusaka and Nairobi, collaborations like "Rise" with NXN, and the THE ASCENSION (INKAWAMI) project. With a monthly show on Rinse FM and a live act that incorporates drums and vocals, KILIMANJARO continues to widen the bridge between the British dancefloor and the energy of the motherland.
