The dub that turned the voice into rhythm

An organ bass, a dry drum beat, and a voice chopped until it functions as percussion are enough to recognize the signature of MK. Formed in the Detroit scene, he began producing as a teenager and found a decisive first platform at KMS Records, the label linked to Kevin Saunderson. There, he developed a deep and direct house sound, based on incisive keyboards, elastic basslines, and vocal editing that ended up becoming one of his most imitated traits. Tracks like Always, Burning, and Love Changes, along with works released as 4th Measure Men, established his prestige in the underground circuit of the early nineties. The remix of Push the Feeling On by Nightcrawlers took that technique to a massive audience and left a rhythmic and vocal pattern that continues to reappear in club culture.

A signature capable of crossing scenes

His catalog of remixes soon expanded its reach toward pop, R&B, and dance music, with commissions for The B-52's, Pet Shop Boys, Céline Dion, and Moby. During the 2000s, he settled in Los Angeles and also worked in urban production, a phase that reinforced his precision in building songs without erasing his club identity. The return to the forefront of house came with his remix of Look Right Through by Storm Queen, a number one in the UK in 2013. Later came the reinterpretation of My Head Is a Jungle, which became an Ibiza anthem, and his own collaborative hits like Piece of Me with Becky Hill, 17, and Back & Forth alongside Jonas Blue and Becky Hill. In all of them, he maintained the balance between immediate melody, dancefloor tension, and meticulously calibrated production.

Area10 and a second international peak

Area10 brings together his facets as a label, event platform, and radio concept, in addition to serving as a framework for his sets and his own stages at festivals. From that position, MK has linked benchmark clubs, major international events, and seasons in Ibiza without abandoning a DJ style focused on the groove. Rhyme Dust with Dom Dolla topped the general Beatport chart and won the ARIA award for best dance/electronic release of 2023; Asking, alongside Sonny Fodera and Clementine Douglas, entered the UK top 10. In 2025, Dior with Chrystal reached number one on the UK singles chart, while Come Find Me extended his connection with Clementine Douglas. His 2026 activity includes Never Let You Go with Illyus Barrientos and Zone with Poppy Baskcomb, in addition to an international schedule with a continued presence in Ibiza and major festivals. More than three decades after his first productions, he retains the credibility of Detroit house while turning underground resources into songs with global reach.
