Identity and origin

Robin Alexander Schulz, known artistically as Robin Schulz, was born on April 28, 1987 in Osnabrück, in the German state of Lower Saxony. He grew up connected to electronic music and started DJing as a teenager, first in the local circuit and later with a practice increasingly oriented towards production. In his early years, he mixed with Technics MK2 and Pioneer DJM 600, and later incorporated digital tools such as Traktor Kontrol S4, Akai APC40, FL Studio, and Ableton Live. Among his initial references are names from club culture such as Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, M.A.N.D.Y., Lexy & K-Paul, and Booka Shade.

First steps and international breakthrough

Between 2007 and 2009, he promoted the local party series Electroschnipsel in Osnabrück, while his sound evolved from a more minimalist approach towards tech house and melodic deep house. In 2009, he began producing his own material and, shortly after, gained attention with remixes spread on digital platforms. His major global breakthrough came in 2014 with the remix of Waves by Mr. Probz, included in the stage of his album Prayer and nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. That same year, he consolidated his profile with the remix of Prayer In C by Lilly Wood & The Prick, which became an international anthem and defined his formula of melodic house, pop vocals, and accessible arrangements.

After Prayer and Extended Prayer in 2014, he released albums such as Sugar in 2015, Uncovered in 2017, IIII in 2021, and PINK in 2023.
