From Chibuku to an imaginary club

SG Lewis's music moves between the luminous euphoria of house, the pulse of nu-disco, and a pop sensibility that always keeps an eye on the dancefloor. Born in Reading and musically trained in Liverpool, he found a decisive school as a resident at Chibuku, where weekly contact with house, techno, drum and bass DJs, and club culture finished shaping his language. Before establishing himself as a global artist, he was already working from a producer's logic: precisely structured songs, carefully treated vocals, and a blend of electronic, soul, and funk designed to work both in headphones and on large stages.

Songs that bridge the studio and the dancefloor

His first impulse came with remixes and early releases on PMR, the label associated with artists like Jessie Ware and Disclosure. Starting with Shivers, Yours, and the triptych Dusk, Dark, Dawn, he developed a flexible identity, capable of moving from atmospheric R&B to modern disco music without losing a recognizable finish. His debut full-length times took that vision to the album format with a celebratory reading of club culture, reinforced by collaborations with Robyn, Channel Tres, Lucky Daye, Nile Rodgers, and Rhye. Later, AudioLust & HigherLove expanded his scale as a songwriter and lead vocalist, bringing his sound closer to a more panoramic and emotional electronic pop.

Collaborations, stages, and Forever Days

In parallel to his own discography, Lewis has become a highly sought-after collaborator. He has worked with artists such as Elton John, Clairo, Khalid, Victoria Monét, Raye, Shygirl, Nelly Furtado, and Tove Lo, in addition to participating in production and songwriting credits for Dave and Dua Lipa, including Hallucinate. His live profile has grown on high-visibility stages, with performances at Coachella, All Points East, and Glastonbury, and with a format that combines live performance, DJ set, and a sophisticated club aesthetic.

The creation of Forever Days marked a phase more focused on pure dance music. That label and party imagery has allowed him to release dancefloor-oriented material, collaborate with Chloé Caillet, DJ Seinfeld, and Loods, and strengthen a community around his own sessions and events. With HEAT, alongside Tove Lo, and the album Anemoia, released in 2025, SG Lewis returned to placing nostalgia, Balearic energy, early trance, and 2000s electronica at the center of his discourse. His current position is that of a producer, DJ, and songwriter capable of connecting club memory with a contemporary form of electronic pop that is elegant and openly danceable.
