Biography of Big Night Live

2019 Halloween, next to the Garden

On the night of October 31, 2019, Gorgon City and CamelPhat opened a venue that the West End lacked with a sold-out double headliner: a large-format music hall with club service, attached to the TD Garden. Big Night Live occupies the second floor of the Hub on Causeway, at 110 Causeway Street, and was born from the partnership between Big Night Entertainment Group—with Ed Kane and Randy Greenstein—and Live Nation. The complex was designed for 2000 people: a venue that could host both an electronic music night and a touring concert, with tables, bottle service, and live production.

A box within a box

the main room was built decoupled from the neighboring arena. The floor, ceiling, and sides rest on isolators so that the roar of a Bruins or Celtics game does not enter the club. Randy Greenstein described it as a box within a box. The first system was a Funktion-One with Full Fat Audio amplifiers and NST processing. Ed Kane had set the goal of making the club with the best sound in the country. The floor-to-ceiling windows can be covered with red velvet panels or opened to the city. The stage measures 40 by 25 feet and is flanked by three LED walls. There are three bars, including a central island, 26 VIP tables, mezzanine balcony suites, two dance floors, and two dressing rooms. Standing, The Live Hall holds 1400 people and, seated, 757. Studio B holds about 440 standing. The complex covers about 3,700 square meters.

Electronic music in a club lineup

the dance floor marked the inauguration and has continued to host its own nights within a calendar that Live Nation also fills with rock, hip hop, metal, or k-pop. In the first week, The Interrupters and Erykah Badu also played. Later came nights with Steve Aoki, Tiësto, SIDEPIECE, Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, and Joel Corry. In 2020, the pandemic shut down the venue when barely two concerts had been held. In 2023, DJ Mag placed the venue at number 81 in its Top 100 Clubs, after having entered the ranking the previous year. The age of admission depends on each date, VIP tables are reserved for those over 21, and the dress code is casual.

The 2025 Vero VX

In 2025, the system was upgraded to a Funktion-One Vero VX array with D-Series amplification and processing, tuned to cover the room uniformly and to jump from a band to a DJ without rebuilding the processing. Guy Fieri's Tequila Cocina, the restaurant opened with the club in 2019, closed at the end of 2023 and gave way to PLAY Boston, the group's pregame spot, with a DJ booth at the entrance of the Garden. The programming continues by date, with the box office open one hour before doors open, right above North Station.
