Two concerts and, afterward, the dance floor

When the second set ends, Café Berlín does not turn off the lights: from Thursday to Saturday, the venue becomes a club and the booth takes over until 06:00. That double life—live music and late-night DJ sets—is the hallmark of the venue, inspired by New York clubs that chain two or even three performances per night.

From Jacometrezo to number 20

The name was born as a café-cabaret on December 16, 1998, at Jacometrezo, 4. It went through stages of tropical music and a jazz club until, at the end of 2011, Andrés Pato Almada and Leandro Cersosimo took the reins and opened it to pop, blues, funk, soul, and song, without letting go of jazz, flamenco, or Latin music. In January 2016, the building was sold to a hotel; in March, the same house reopened about eighty meters away, at Costanilla de los Ángeles 20, where We Rock had been. They moved moldings and the bar; they installed a wooden stage. The capacity remained at 254 people over about 500 m².

Club flamenco and long nights

On a short dance floor, the Berlín has made proximity a program: the so-called club flamenco, jams with guests, and a Club Flamenco Festival that has brought in Pepe Habichuela, Duquende, Remedios Amaya, or Josemi Carmona. Jorge Pardo, Avishai Cohen, Chano Domínguez, Jerry González, Knower, José James, or Natalia Lafourcade have passed through the stage. The programming has reached over forty sets per month. After the 22:30 concert, the Berlín Club plays soul, funk, latin, and house with national and international DJs; the 2016 reopening was greeted by John Morales, and on the dance floor, groove coexists with rawer techno nights.

A room for being close

There is a 30 m² stage, dressing rooms, two bars, a cloakroom, and a grand piano. There is no VIP area or reserved tables. The audience, aged twenty-five to fifty, shares tables and the bar with those who have just played: from that intimacy, the documentary series Café Berlín Live Sessions was even born, with live recordings like that of Jorge Pardo. In 2026, in partnership with SON Estrella Galicia, the venue is testing the Café Berlín 360º format: stage in the center and concert from any angle, with names like Marie Davidson and Juana Molina.
