Hotel Bruc

At the foot of Montserrat, kilometer 570 of the A-2 still holds a rare memory in the Catalan night: that of a roadside hotel that, for years, also operated as a mega-club. Those who came to Hotel Bruc were not always looking for a bed. They were looking for Bruc's Bananas.

The dance floor that was called Bananas

Bruc's Bananas—also referred to as Bananas nightclub—was the complex's dance venue: nearly 5,000 square meters attached to the hotel, the pool, and the highway parking lot. In 1991, names as diverse as Deee-Lite, touring with World Clique, and Loquillo passed through that dance floor. Part of its personality were the open-air raves and the New Year's Eve parties, the same Bruc before the 2012 renovation that the series La Mesías brought to the screen. Around that date, the nightclub closed. A roadside destination remained, with the mountain in the background and the A-2 as access.

From mega-club to hybrid venue

In 2015, the hotel converted those square meters into MontBruc, a celebration venue with a hall next to the pool, an indoor dance floor, and an outdoor dance floor. The hotel continues to advertise the Bruc's nightclub, now with a capacity of up to 300 people, designed for private parties and the end of banquets, and a party hall with dinner and dancing on weekends. The establishment, operating since 1965, maintains five halls, gardens, and 3,000 m² of terraces, a chill-out area, restaurant, cafeteria, and about 50 rooms. Nightlife is no longer a daily mega-club: it is a hybrid venue, hotel and dance floor at the same time, which opens when there is an event.

Daytime electronics, with the mountain behind

In recent years, the complex has returned to the electronic circuit as an open-air venue. Pinkcloud has chosen Hotel Bruc for days of hard bounce, hard house, trance, and eurodance: twelve hours, from 11:00 to 23:00, with the pool as the axis and Montserrat as a backdrop. The 2026 events have deployed a central stage, shaded areas, and an exclusive open-air terrace, more than forty minutes from Barcelona. Other remember brands, such as La Mansión, have reclaimed the memory of Bananas for their open-air events. The physical location is not the party: it is the hotel, the pool, the gardens, and what remains of that roadside nightclub. There, between the asphalt of the A-2 and the mountain, the Bruc continues to be a place to go to dance.
