Celebrating 50 years of dancing, Amnesia represents the heart and soul of electronic music in Ibiza. Spanning five decades of history, this collection gathers 50 tracks distributed in a collector's box set of 10 vinyls or 5 CDs, offering an entry into the legacy of one of the world's most influential clubs, responsible for boosting some of the most important songs and artists in electronic culture.
The soundtrack of 50 summers takes shape through a selection of 50 carefully chosen tracks, reflecting the breadth of Amnesia's cultural influence. The compilation gathers music from Donna Summer, Calvin Harris, Paul van Dyk, Candi Staton, Fred again.., Robert Miles, Laurent Garnier, Binary Finary and many more, in addition to including as a vinyl exclusive the Maceo Plex remix of “Insomnia” by Faithless.
A curation with soul and documentary legacy
The curation was handled by Les Schmitz, a historic Amnesia resident, together with the club's team and Frederik Emmerechts from N.E.W.S. More than a compilation, the project was born with a documentary intention: to capture the role that Amnesia has played over five decades in promoting music that has shaped culture, genres, and the careers of countless artists.
Each track awakens memories and tells a story. This is not a selection made by an algorithm, but a collection chosen by those who were part of that history, built as a testament to the club's cultural legacy.
A journey through the different eras of Ibiza
From the unforgettable piano of «Pjanoo» by Eric Prydz to the groove of «Benediction» by Hot Natured, the compilation travels through the musical history of Ibiza and Amnesia across different eras and genres. From the disco of Chic with “Good Times” and Candi Staton with “Young Hearts Run Free”, to the new wave of “Blue Monday” by New Order or the rave spirit of the nineties with “Dominator” by Human Resource.
Also present are some of the residencies that defined the club's identity. «Rocker» by Alter Ego and «Titelheld» by Extrawelt immediately evoke the Cocoon era alongside Sven Väth, while «For An Angel» by Paul van Dyk and the Tiësto remix of «Silence» recall the fundamental role that Cream played in the history of trance in Ibiza.
The eclectic influence of the legendary resident Alfredo Fiorito also runs through the compilation with tracks like «Promised Land» by Joe Smooth and, of course, «Ibiza» by Amnesia, reflecting the legacy of the man who defined the Balearic sound that continues to inspire the club to this day.
This compilation celebrates an anniversary with a clear message: an invitation to dance, led by a club that has marked the lives of entire generations. Since 1976, Amnesia has remained a refuge for those who choose music and the dance floor over image. A space built around atmosphere, freedom, and a permanent commitment to what is truly authentic.
