The city of Donostia / San Sebastián has just said goodbye to one of the most stimulating events on the national electronic circuit. Today, September 1, 2026, with the emotional hangover still latent after the culmination of its tenth edition on August 29, Dantz Festival confirms that its expanded festival model not only works, but sets a standard in the way of experiencing sonic avant-garde, club culture, and connection with the territory.
Miramón: Architecture, landscape, and dancefloor electronics
The Miramón Amphitheatre was once again crowned as the nerve center of the event during the main days of August 28 and 29, recording the highest occupancy in its history. The imposing fusion between concrete, nature, and sound systems generated an immersive atmosphere divided into two key spaces: Main Stage and Frontoia Stage.
On Friday the 28th, techno and pure club energy dominated the programming. The Main Stage vibrated with figures of the caliber of Ben Sims, Tiga, and Adiel, supported by the local talent of Kintana and Gisa. Simultaneously, the Frontoia Stage offered an impeccable sonic range with Lis Sarroca, Divorce From New York, INES, Yahaira, and Ope Loeb.
On Saturday the 29th, the commitment diversified by embracing live acts, electro, and sonic sensitivity. Röyksopp, Satoshi Tomiie, and Kangding Ray provided magnetic textures, while the imposing b2b between Nastia and Mark Broom unleashed madness on the Main Stage. The Frontoia was not left behind, hosting the live act of Anthony Rother along with P3z, Syntetriks, Angela Grief, Anah, and Acelga.
Club culture and urban activation
True to its philosophy, Dantz was not limited to daytime stages. The nights continued at La Cripta Club with the After Festival, managing to hang the sold-out sign on both days. Sessions by artists such as Anartz, Kapitaina, and Om Lila on Friday, and BRGS, Bihotza, and Almuedo on Saturday, returned the festival to the intimacy, darkness, and rawness of the local dancefloor.
In addition, under the umbrella of the Dantz Festival Week, the Gipuzkoan capital pulsed from Monday, August 24. Highlights included initiatives such as the presentation of the 'El Error' editorial line at Egia Records by designer Beñat Elizalde, or the Dantz Academy x We Make Noise at Tabakalera, an intensive production laboratory with Ableton Live aimed at women and dissidents. The final warm-up arrived on Thursday the 27th with the Pintxopote at Convent Garden, fusing vinyl, local streetwear brands, and DJ sets.
Perspective: A decade redefining the scene in Euskadi
Reaching ten editions is a complex milestone in today's dizzying music industry. Throughout this decade, Dantz Festival has served as a bridge between international giants of the stature of Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz, Blawan, Surgeon, or Oscar Mulero, and the effervescent local Basque talent. This 2026 edition not only celebrates the past but projects a solid future committed to contemporary creation.
With the support of entities such as Donostia Kultura, Laboral Kutxa, and Keler, the machinery does not stop. The organization has already confirmed that the first tickets for Dantz Festival 2027 will be available soon, promising to open a new stage that will continue to bet on the total integration between music, community, and territory.
