The Debut of Starlight Festival at the Giza Pyramids

The EXIT Festival organization recently unveiled the first phase of the lineup for the inaugural edition of Starlight Festival, an electronic music event to be held from October 8 to 11, 2026, in Egypt. Developed in partnership with the promoter Venture Lifestyle and its electronic music platform P+US, the event marks the Serbian brand's first foray into the North African country. The program will be structured over four consecutive days that aim to merge cultural tourism with clubbing culture. October 8 and 11 will host the official opening and closing parties at various exclusive locations in Cairo, while the main large-format program will take place on October 9 and 10, using the Great Pyramids of Giza as a scenic backdrop.

The choice of dates in October responds to a logistical and climatic strategy. According to data provided by the organization, temperatures in Egypt during the beginning of autumn drop to averages near 20 degrees Celsius after sunset, offering optimal conditions for attending an open-air festival in the desert. Ticket sales have progressed at high speed, currently in the second phase of sales through official international platforms.

A Lineup Headlined by Global Figures

The program preview confirms the presence of top-tier artists in the international techno and house circuit. The Belgian DJ and producer Charlotte de Witte will perform her first official show in Egypt, bringing her characteristic high-BPM sound. Similarly, the British artist Michael Bibi, founder of the Solid Grooves label, will debut in front of the historic monument in what is one of the most significant milestones of his current tour. For their part, the Swiss duo Adriatique will return to this enclave after having gathered nearly 10,000 attendees during their previous visit to the Giza plateau, consolidating the operational viability of massive events in the area.

The main lineup is completed by performances from industry heavyweights such as the Brazilian Vintage Culture, the veteran British broadcaster and DJ Pete Tong, the Danish group WhoMadeWho in a hybrid format, and the Italian techno producer Enrico Sangiuliano. In addition to the headliners, the organization has confirmed more than thirty regional and international artists to provide musical depth to the multiple days, including rising names within the underground ecosystem such as Awen, Coco & Breezy, Deer Jade, Fiona Kraft, Floyd Lavine, Layla Benitez, Olympe, Paolo Ferrara, Dish Dash, Moti, Rolbac, and Tebra.

Technical Infrastructure and Heritage Respect

In terms of production, the Starlight Festival venue will feature more than five independent stages and various immersive experience zones. Among the technological innovations deployed, the inclusion of a large-scale virtual reality installation stands out, an audiovisual project that was originally presented successfully at the Dubai Expo. The combination of state-of-the-art sound systems and advanced lighting design seeks to contrast the futuristic aesthetic of electronic music with the antiquity of the surroundings.

To ensure the absolute preservation of the heritage, the event will not take place directly on the lands protected by UNESCO. The production will be installed in a specially designated perimeter area in the vicinity of the Giza plateau. This spatial design has been developed in strict coordination with the Egyptian authorities, complying with the rigorous historical conservation requirements demanded to safeguard the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.

The Context of the EXIT World Tour

The launch of Starlight Festival is part of the so-called "Global Tour 2026" by EXIT Festival. Born in 2000 as a student movement for democracy in Serbia, EXIT has established itself over more than two decades at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, winning multiple awards such as "Best Major European Festival." However, after recent political and financial pressures in its home country, the promoter has accelerated an ambitious international expansion.

This global tour not only includes the event in Egypt but also includes the deployment of new counterpart festivals in destinations such as Malta, with the debut of Spiral Festival, as well as events in Croatia, North Macedonia, and India. This strategic move seeks to position the brand in high-impact tourist destinations, exporting its business model and infrastructure to venues of millennial importance, opening a new chapter in the large-scale music events industry.
