Jeff Mills headlines a key date at Pyramid

The legendary Detroit artist will headline the lineup alongside Norbak, DJ Pete, Obskür B2B Omar+, Sosa, Kepler B2B Borinski, and CAAL B2B De La Swing.

Pyramid proves once again this Sunday why it remains one of the great benchmarks of club culture in Ibiza. This coming September 27th, the Amnesia Ibiza residency will once again bring together different generations, styles, and ways of understanding electronic music in a single night, with a lineup featuring one of the fundamental figures in the history of techno as its main protagonist: Jeff Mills.

The trajectory of 'The Wizard': from Underground Resistance to Axis Records

Born in Detroit and known during his early years as The Wizard, Jeff Mills began his career as a DJ on Detroit radio during the 80s, developing a revolutionary technique that combined extraordinary turntable skills with a musical selection that connected techno, house, and other electronic sounds. At the end of that decade, Mills co-founded Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks, one of the essential collectives for understanding the evolution of Detroit techno. He later began his solo career and founded Axis Records in 1992, becoming one of the most influential figures in the development of a minimalist, futuristic, and deeply personal techno.

His importance transcends the DJ booth significantly. Throughout his career, Mills has explored different disciplines and has taken his musical language into cinematic, experimental, and orchestral realms, always maintaining an absolutely recognizable artistic identity. His relationship with the Roland TR-909, his extraordinary turntable technique, and his ability to build sets in real-time are part of a way of understanding DJing that has influenced several generations of artists.

Main Room and Terrace programming

Joining Jeff Mills will be Norbak, a Portuguese artist associated with a dark, hypnotic, and hard-hitting vision of techno, with productions and sets characterized by a strong personality and a clear orientation toward the underground. Completing the Main Room programming is DJ Pete, a veteran figure of the international techno scene and an artist whose career is closely linked to some of the most important pages of rave culture and European techno.

The Terrace will offer a different perspective but one perfectly connected to the spirit of Pyramid. Obskür B2B Omar+ will join forces in a back-to-back that promises a set charged with energy, groove, and house and tech house sounds. The B2B format will allow both artists to build a dynamic musical dialogue, constantly adapting to the response of the dancefloor. Sosa will contribute his particular vision of house and tech house, marked by hard-hitting grooves, basslines, and a sensibility clearly focused on the club.

Also appearing will be Kepler B2B Borinski, another of the night's combinations on the Terrace. Their back-to-back will allow for exploring different nuances of club electronics, with a set conceived to evolve progressively and maintain a constant connection with the dancefloor. The Terrace lineup will be completed by CAAL B2B De La Swing, two artists who will unite their different perspectives in a set of house and underground sounds designed to maintain energy throughout the night.
