Ultra Music Festival 2026: Return and new venue in CDMX

The long-awaited return to the Mexican capital

The prestigious international festival Ultra Music Festival has officially confirmed its return to Mexico City for 2026. After an eight-year hiatus since its last edition in the country, the global franchise Ultra Worldwide has announced that the two-day event will be held on the weekend of November 7th and 8th. This event marks the third edition of the competition in Mexican territory, once again consolidating the metropolis as a strategic epicenter for the electronic music festival circuit in Latin America.

New monumental venue and ticket sales

Unlike the 2017 and 2018 installments that took place at the Foro Pegaso, the organization has opted for a new, large-scale location. The festival will take place on the esplanade of the newly renovated Estadio Banorte (historically known as Estadio Azteca). This venue has received an investment of over two billion Mexican pesos ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This decision makes Ultra the first major electronic music event to occupy this iconic space, promising unparalleled technical infrastructure.

Regarding ticket acquisition, the official sale began on April 30th through the Ultra México portal. Attendees can choose between General Admission tickets and VIP experiences. The ticketing system operates through tiered pricing phases, which increase in value as the availability of the initial tranches is exhausted.

Line-up expectations and the weight of RESISTANCE

The announcement has generated notable expectation within the clubbing ecosystem. Previous editions of Ultra México managed to bring together EDM titans such as Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Alesso and Afrojack. Likewise, the festival successfully introduced the acclaimed underground concept RESISTANCE, deploying stages dedicated to techno and house with performances by legends such as Carl Cox, Dubfire, The Martinez Brothers, Richie Hawtin and Seth Troxler.

Although the official lineup for 2026 is still under wraps, the promise of cutting-edge production and the brand's historical backing suggest a top-tier roster. The choice of such a central and imposing venue not only symbolizes an evident logistical improvement over the operational challenges of the past, but also projects an ambitious new era for dance culture in the Aztec capital.
