The red candy box of Boca Paila

Under a red neon Fabergé egg isotype, the concrete arched facade opens up among the palm trees of the hotel zone. In 2021, Filipao Nunes Arquitectos transformed a jungle mansion into a 673 m² indoor club: the first in Tulum designed as a nightclub rather than a beach club. The name evokes a small box of chocolates, a small luxury object planted on the Tulum–Boca Paila road, neighbor to Bagatelle and Vagalume, with cenotes and vegetation just a step away.

Concrete, chukum and retractable roof

the interior opts for dirty chic: wooden columns, chukum walls, lattices, garnet velvet, red fabric strips, and polished concrete floors, with a Greek accent inherited from its sister club in Mykonos. The floor plan is divided into a terrace, a speakeasy restaurant, a VIP area, and an elliptical main dance floor, conceived as a solar system where tables orbit the center. A retractable roof lets in the Caribbean sky. The project, awarded in 2022 at the Global Design & Architecture Awards, prioritized contained environmental impact. DJ Mag placed it in the Top 100 Clubs 2025 and highlighted a Funktion-One sound system tuned for a capacity of 800 people.

House, techno and the last dance floor of the night

When beaches and jungle close around one, the venue sustains the afterhours until the early morning. The programming moves between house and techno, with visits from Maceo Plex, Jamie Jones, Claptone, Joseph Capriati, Michael Bibi, Kölsch, or Carlita. Tables, bottle service, and a mezzanine coexist with a dense dance floor: less sand, more DJ booth. The dress code is elegant and excludes swimwear, caps, and sandals. On busy nights, it is advisable to arrive early: the capacity is intimate for the international circuit it programs.

Follow the red light

It remains active as a physical venue on the coast, with regular nights from Thursday to Sunday starting at 22:00, valet parking, and prior reservation. In a destination of sunsets and cenotes, it maintains a European club culture—roof, large-format sound, and selective door—without leaving the Quintana Roo jungle.
