A black box inside a country club

Andrés Chamorro's lighting rental house stopped depending on external stages and built its own venue at the Carmel Club Campestre, on the Autopista Norte at Calle 153, in Suba. Chamorro Entertainment City Hall was not born as a weekly session nightclub, but as an all-inclusive production venue: lighting, audio, video, rigging, ceilings, and structures are provided by the same company that has been setting up shows in Colombia for over two decades. The result is an industrial black box embedded in a private club in the north of Bogotá, designed so that a tour, a convention, or a clubbing night finds the backline and logistics already resolved.

Steel, fifteen meters, and contained noise

The commercial presentation of the auditorium details over 2,000 square meters of steel construction, 15 meters of clear height, and the capacity to support over 150 tons of equipment. There is no fixed floor: it is an open-plan space that is reconfigured according to the setup, with dressing rooms, an anteroom, production offices, parking, and a loading area for trucks. The acoustic treatment addresses a specific problem: the venue is in a residential area and must contain the sound. In 2019, the technical press documented the commitment to Robe luminaires—Pointe, Spiider, BMFL, MegaPointe—to package the lighting for the Bogotá City Hall and its twin in Medellín, so that an artist could repeat the same technical sheet in both cities.

From Papa Roach to Drumcode

The lineup that established the name began with large-format rock. In December 2016, Papa Roach played in Colombia for the first time in this venue; in April 2017, Korn filled the north of the city. That same season, The 1975, Foals, Manuel Medrano, and Klangkarussell were scheduled. The Nickelodeon Awards were also held here. Later came Keane, in 2024, and events like Páramo Celebra with Bloc Party and Primal Scream. On the electronic dance floor, the Drumcode label installed Adam Beyer in June 2026, alongside Bart Skils, Kevin de Vries, Linska, and Victor Ruiz. In September of the same year, John Summit played a long set at the same venue. The City Hall opens by dates, not as a fixed weekly calendar club.

Two cities, the same technical sheet

What differentiates this venue from a generic hall is the operator: a production house that treats the building as an extension of its technical fleet. Anyone entering a concert or a techno night finds truss, screens, and an elevated bar inside a country club, a few minutes' walk from the TransMilenio Calle 161 station. That rarity—an event warehouse inside a sports and social club—explains why the short name Chamorro City Hall coexists at the box office with the official isotype of Chamorro Entertainment City Hall.
