A 300-person venue on Calle de Tetuán has turned a veteran nightlife address in the city center into a laboratory of immersive architecture and sound pressure. CORE took shape in 2025 as a piece of contemporary clubbing linked to the Vandall & Kerri environment and designed by artist and architect Guillermo Santomà, with a public presentation that highlighted its mix of design, darkness, and dance floor music from day one.

From Calle de Tetuán to the contemporary dark room

Number 27 Calle de Tetuán had already functioned as a nightclub and concert venue in previous stages, but CORE reorders that heritage as a small-scale club. The approach is not about the spectacle of a large venue, but about concentration: an approximate capacity of 300 people, a short distance between the booth and the crowd, and a staging that seeks to erase the border between those playing and those dancing. In an area saturated with bars, theaters, and entertainment venues, the project bets on a more physical and less touristy experience of the center of Madrid.

Architecture, light, and d&b pressure

The identity of the space relies on raw materials, precise lighting, and a deliberately enveloping atmosphere. The sound system signed by d&b audiotechnik was adjusted for the room during its launch, a detail consistent with a program where the punch and clarity of the bass are a central part of the experience. CORE functions as a nocturnal installation: the integrated booth, low-visibility lighting, and the proximity of the dance floor favor intense listening, closer to a dark room than a commercial nightclub.

A controlled-risk program

Its artistic line moves around techno, tech house, acid techno, electro, hardgroove, high-tempo house, and crossovers with Latin or experimental sounds. The opening was articulated with names like Sita Abellán, drazzit, petit, and Marcelo Pantani, and its subsequent agenda has maintained relationships with promoters and collectives from the local and international scene. Programming lists frequently feature proposals like La Intuición, Club Romántico, Antídoto, Villa Pantani, or Explorers, in addition to artists like FUKCNORMAL, Baby Pantera, Safety Trance, Florentino, Cardopusher, Bella, or Cora.

A useful scale for the Madrid scene

CORE occupies a unique place within the recent Madrid scene: it does not compete by size, but by criteria, aesthetics, and curation. Its format allows for intimate capacity nights, variable programming, and a direct relationship between the public, the door, and the dance floor. Active with events announced mainly on electronic and ticketing platforms, the club functions as a new-generation venue where the design of the space, club culture, and sonic intensity weigh as much as the lineup.
