Granite, brick, and a tunnel next to São Bento

The vaulted brick ceilings and granite walls turn the dancefloor into a dark corridor a stone's throw from the São Bento Station. On Rua da Madeira, a building about two hundred years old—a former warehouse, Traçadinho restaurant, and the old Passerelle—reopened on April 17, 2008, as a club. Two tunnels joined by arches, a stone atrium, and the booth at the back: Gare Porto does not hide the railway; it turns it into dance architecture.

A club written by Freshkitos and Void

The house was born from Freshkitos, a duo formed by Gustavo Pereira and Amulador, with a third partner and five years of previous experience at Indústria. They wanted a club of service, equipment, and music, not decor. T2 Produção e Eventos solved the acoustics of a 35-meter-long, 10-meter-high, and 6-meter-wide tunnel with a Void Acoustics system: triple-horn Air Motion and Stasys 8 subwoofers in the main room. That sound signature continues to define the night. The press at the time spoke of granite, black, and an industrial air close to Berlin, with a lounge, bar, and a wine bar inherited from the Traçadinho.

Bass Fridays, Techno Saturdays

The calendar has remained legible: Fridays move between house and drum and bass; Saturdays belong to techno. The booth has hosted Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, Nina Kraviz, Helena Hauff, Laurent Garnier, Amelie Lens, DVS1, Oscar Mulero, Loco Dice, Dave Clarke, Carl Craig, or Gui Boratto, along with residents of the Porto scene. The 909 nights and long dawns built a community that goes to the dancefloor, not the photocall. Little scenography, high volume, dense audience until closing.

The last station is still running

In April 2026, the venue celebrated eighteen years with Lady Starlight, Garçon, Gusta-vo, and Amulador. It continues to program almost every weekend in the Baixa of Porto, now with doors opening around 23:00. The nightlife ordinance has cut some sessions to 04:00; the team is pushing to recover the 06:00 closing. Gare remains the tunnel one goes down to listen to: a transit station that, against the urban calendar, has not closed the track.
