Wood, metal, and proximity in Poble-sec

The old carpentry workshop turned into a dance floor defines much of LAUT's personality. In the heart of Poble-sec, a short distance from the Paralelo axis, the room was born in 2017 with a very specific idea: to offer Barcelona a small-format venue to listen to electronic music without the massive scale of large clubs. Its 245 m² and capacity for 227 people place the experience in a terrain of closeness, where the booth, the sound system, and the relationship between the public and the artist have more weight than the spectacular nature of a large venue.

A club designed to sound up close

The space combines a contained industrial aesthetic with a dark, compact, and functional room. The interior design, attributed to the Galerías Vinçon team, works with sober materials, clean volumes, and a feeling of warmth unusual in harder-edged electronic clubs. The L-Acoustics system is one of its differential features: it is not presented as simple power, but as a tool for detailed listening in a small capacity. The versatile lighting reinforces that logic, adapting to both night sessions and live performances and intimate audiovisual proposals.

Local electronics with external connection

Since its early years, LAUT has moved between the local scene and proposals from outside Barcelona, with a program oriented toward techno, house, electro, experimental electronics, live sets, and less obvious club sounds. The project appears linked to the impulse of Marco Roehrich and the artistic support of Lapsus in its initial stage, a connection consistent with its interest in advanced music and non-commercial electronic culture. Its calendar includes recurring local artists, names from the state scene, and international DJs who fit better in an attentive listening club than on a fast-consumption dance floor.

More than a night dance floor

The evolution of LAUT Concert expanded the role of the venue toward afternoon and evening concerts, maintaining the reduced scale as the main advantage. Independent pop, rock, live electronics, and hybrid projects have found a flexible space in the room, without abandoning its link to club culture. That dual condition, nightclub and small-capacity concert hall, gives it a unique position within the Barcelona scene: close to Apolo and the Poble-sec circuit, but with its own identity based on proximity, careful sound, and a program that prefers detail over massification.
