SILO Dallas

Agricultural concrete, dance floor vocation

The industrial scale marks the reading of SILO Dallas from the first flash of light: a former 1959 grain silo transformed into a music and events venue within the Design District. The building was erected by Delmo Johnson for the Johnson Grain Company and, decades later, its concrete structure found a second public life after a development and renovation process led by Donnie Estopinal, a figure from Disco Presents, and businessman Patrick Tetrick. The reopening as a club came in 2024, with two nights of Tiësto that set the tone for a room designed from the start for large electronic music productions.

A large-format audiovisual vessel

The main room works with an immersive spectacle logic: a capacity of 3,145 people, a d&b audiotechnik system of over 100,000 watts, advanced acoustics, high-impact lighting, and a large-format 4K video wall that dominates the perspective of the dance floor. The renovation was not limited to the interior: it also incorporated industrial air conditioning, new stage infrastructure, and the intervention of the 2.7-acre urban block surrounding the building, with access and parking areas. The result retains the reading of a heavy warehouse but turns it into a contemporary audiovisual machine.

From massive EDM to the dark room

The programming has placed SILO Dallas within the American large-clubbing circuit with an openly electronic profile. Names associated with house, techno, trance, bass, and stadium EDM have passed through the room, including Illenium, RL Grime, Eric Prydz, deadmau5, Charlotte de Witte, Solomun, and Black Coffee. The evolution of the complex added Ductwork, a secondary room conceived as a techno speakeasy, more intimate and equipped with custom-tuned Funktion-One. That double scale allows alternating nights of monumental screens with more closed, sound-oriented club sessions.

A new anchor in the Dallas scene

SILO does not function as a touring party or a simple rented room: it operates as a stable venue, with a variable calendar, in-house production, VIP service, and a clear role in the club culture of Dallas. Its value is in having reconverted a recognizable industrial piece into a high-capacity dance floor, prepared for international artists and for a local community that was looking for a permanent large-format space. In a city accustomed to festivals and scattered events, the club offers a physical base for electronic music: hard architecture, powerful sound, festival-scale visuals, and programming that combines spectacle, scene, and urban ambition.
