Son Fusteret

An esplanade for large formats

Scale marks the personality of Son Fusteret: a large open platform in the surroundings of Camí Vell de Bunyola, a few minutes from the center of Palma, designed to absorb setups that a conventional hall could not handle. Its condition as an open-air venue and its surface of 92,000 m² have allowed it to function as a stage for massive concerts, fairs, festivals, traveling shows, and popular events on the island. It does not operate as a permanent nightclub with a daily resident booth, but as a stable physical venue with variable programming, with a current official capacity of up to 12,000 people and logistics oriented to large-format production.

From municipal fairground to contemporary agenda

The venue was built in 2009 and was publicly consolidated as a musical space starting with its inauguration as the new Son Fusteret venue in January 2010. In 2014, it began a stage of private management linked to Grup Trui, which reinforced its use for concerts, outdoor leisure, and seasonal events. Over the years, Son Fusteret has maintained a hybrid function within the city: a meeting point for the Fira del Ram, gastronomic fairs, and popular celebrations, but also key infrastructure for national and international artists who need an urban esplanade with access, bars, security, stage production, and public services on a festival scale.

Electronics under the open sky

Although its programming is not limited to clubbing, electronic music has gained weight in its recent identity. The venue appears linked to formats like Danzû FSTVL, Blackworks, elrow, or Sacro by Mëstiza, in addition to events with high-impact names like Carl Cox. That activity places Son Fusteret in a unique position within Mallorca: it is not an underground club in a closed room, but a high-capacity container where techno, hard techno, melodic house, and festival productions can deploy stages, lighting, outdoor bars, and an experience closer to open-air than to a traditional nightclub.

Public flows and esplanade services

The experience at Son Fusteret depends on each promoter and each setup, but the common pattern is clear: tickets per event, variable schedules, adaptable capacity, and an exterior distribution that facilitates large flows of public. The venue publishes services such as food and drink areas, security distributed by access points and interior, ticket offices open before shows, and options for reduced mobility. Its location next to city entry axes and near bus and metro stops makes it a functional venue for attendees from all over the island. In the current Palma scene, its value is precisely in that versatility: it can host popular culture, pop and rock concerts, urban proposals, and nights of rave culture without losing its character as a large open space.
