Biography of TK NIGHTCLUB TOKYO
The old T2 space
The basement of the Chitose Kaikan, under the Gai Center in Shibuya, had been the home of the now-defunct T2 SHIBUYA. On April 28, 2017, that space returned to operation as a large nightclub: TK SHIBUYA opened, with a preview on the 21st. The club was announced as one of the largest dance floors in the neighborhood, with an RCF system, LED monitors on the ceiling and walls, and over 120 spotlights. The opening night was headlined by Harrison. The initial residency was SHU, KIYOTO and AVIX, and in the early years, the weekend revolved around SHIBUYA MIXX, with guest artists and a large nightclub format featuring visuals and dance. In June 2026, the venue celebrated its ninth anniversary: that 2017 opening remains the origin the club recognizes.
From black and gold to neon
In the spring of 2021, the same venue reopened as TK NIGHTCLUB. The interior shifted to black and gold, a lounge was added, and the sound changed: the RCF gave way to d&b audiotechnik. The club's current inventory details a main Vi8 line array with eight boxes, nine Vi7P, 12S-D monitors, D20 and D80 amplifiers, a Midas M32R console, and a Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 booth with a DJM-900NXS2 mixer. On February 28 and March 1, 2025, another reopening took place, now under the name TK NIGHTCLUB TOKYO and the NEO TOKYO concept: music, image, and light treated as a single device. On those two nights, residents like KIYOTO, 2WASTED, AVY and RYOSUKE performed, and on Saturday, Vini Vici closed. The main floor moves between EDM, techno and house. In 2026, UNVS TOKYO was the first techno event programmed by the club itself.
Two floors, two programs
On September 4, 2026, the second floor opened, focusing on hip hop with space also for R&B, reggae, afro and house. Its own schedule runs from 24:00 to 04:00. Downstairs are the main floor and the lounge, with a booth, stage, LED screens, and VIP tables distributed in Sapphire, Topaz, Platinum, Gold and Emerald. The dance floor and lounge are non-smoking: conventional cigarettes are restricted to a separate area, and only heated tobacco and electronic cigarettes are allowed on the dance floor. There is a cloakroom. The venue is open every day from 22:00 to 04:30 and is about a five-minute walk from Shibuya station.
Entry is for those 18 and older, and high school students are refused. On weekdays, except for Fridays, Saturdays, days before holidays, and certain events, those under 25 enter for free, and there is a free entry campaign for those aged 18 and 19. Tracksuits, hoodies, tank tops, workwear, and sandals are not allowed at the door. The club also maintains TK DJ SCHOOL, its own school where students can prepare for their debut at the club itself.
