The railed booth of Niceto Vega

The booth is in the center, fenced in by bars, with the public an inch away from the decks. In that corner of Palermo Hollywood, Under Club turned a small, dark, and industrial venue—the one that had been occupied by Cocoliche—into a techno dance floor with continental reputation. There are no screens or VIP area: the night is played out between the body, the Funktion-One, and a rule that the venue imposes without ambiguity: no photos or videos.

From Bloody in Haedo to the white triangle

The name was born in February 2013, when Joel Silva opened a techno dance floor inside the Bloody nightclub in Haedo. A year later, it became independent and, in February 2014, opened the doors of Av. Cnel. Niceto Vega 5699. The inauguration, with Nina Kraviz and Xhei, remained a milestone of the Buenos Aires scene: a tiny club receiving a global headliner just days after existing. The room is compact and sweaty, with several levels around the dance floor; whoever is DJing sees the venue as a bowl of people. The first audio equipment was precarious. The technical leap came in 2019, when the Funktion-One system was installed.

Permission, forgiveness, thanks

The dance floor culture is summarized in mottos that the club publishes as identity: No VIP, we are all equal and permission, forgiveness, thanks. The public goes to dance long sets, not to show off. Oscar Mulero has returned again and again; Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, DVS1, Ellen Allien, Rødhåd, and names linked to Underground Resistance have passed through the same booth. The club has engaged in dialogue with Tresor in Berlin and Bassiani in Tbilisi, and maintains local curation—Faustø among the residents—plus the Under Club Records label. In July 2024, a police raid closed the venue; in September it reopened and continued programming. In 2025, it announced an accessibility project, with braille and a haptic map in preparation.

House still open

It remains active at its original address, with a calendar that varies by event. Although it sometimes presents nights at other venues in Buenos Aires, the physical home has not moved. The proposal is not diluted by visuals: low lights, darkness, direct connection between DJ and dance floor. It is a club of Buenos Aires underground culture that is measured by the energy of the room, not by the box.
