The dancefloor Canggu hid underground

Going down the stairs is the gesture that defines the venue. In Berawa, behind and below the Tamora commercial complex, a discreet door leads to a concrete basement designed so the neighborhood hears nothing. Vault Bali was not born to compete with the sunset: it was born to fill the gap of a warehouse club, raw, enclosed, and focused on music, in contrast to the palm-tree beach clubs that dominated the Canggu coast.

The budget went to the sound system

A collective of Indonesian and Western partners—including Harmen and director Paul Tamin, with previous experience at Eikon in Kuta—began to fit the idea together around 2017. The design was carried out by Kiko and Nico, from El Colectivo Studio, originally from Barcelona and Chile. When the club opened in February 2019, the thesis was visible as soon as you entered: most of the budget had gone to the sound system, not the glitz. The main dancefloor equipment is a Void Acoustics Tri Motion. The central booth, converted into an LED cube, focuses the room's gaze and has ended up being the venue's most recognizable image.

Dancefloor, lounge and Cocktail Bunker

The venue is split into two environments. The dancefloor concentrates the dancing, with VIP seats and tables on the perimeter; a lounge with red velvet curtains maintains the volume without being the same room. Next to the main room operates the Cocktail Bunker, the cocktail bar of the same complex, used for warm-ups and private events. The club's motto—living underground—describes an architectural decision: keep the bass underground to be able to extend the night without fighting with the neighborhood.

Split nights, international booth

The programming is divided by nights: R&B on Monday, afrobeats on Wednesday, urban sounds on Thursday, hip hop and R&B on Friday and hip hop on Saturday, with techno and house sets when an international name comes in. Sets by artists such as VTSS, Volvox, and Fiedel have been recorded in that booth, alongside local residents. The club remains open Monday and Wednesday to Saturday, from 22:00 to 04:00, with the same idea from 2019: the music is kept downstairs, and the palm-tree island stays upstairs.
