A warehouse cut by the Games

Before being filled with Martin Audio and daytime parties, the Vittoria Wharf Studio building was one of the last original warehouses of Fish Island, in the brick and canal Hackney Wick. With the 2012 Olympic Games upon it, the block was going to disappear to make way for a pedestrian walkway to the Olympic Park. Local pressure and a stroke of luck saved it, but with an extreme gesture: an industrial saw split the warehouse in half to open the bridge and preserve the remaining volume. The loft today occupies the second floor of 10 Stour Road, with exposed brick, a skylight, and a balcony of about 200 square feet over the Lee Navigation, with the Olympic stadium in the background.

The intimate chapter of The Cause

The The Cause and All My Friends team took the keys in 2024 and opened the space to the public on April 18, 2025, with a Good Friday after-party. The place was not entirely new to them: here, co-founder Stuart Glen had held his first London Loft Party. A single room of about 185 m² was equipped with a four-point Martin Audio system, a booth with CDJ-2000 NXS2, DJM-900, and Technics 1210, and lighting by Sensory Studio. It was planned as the small club of the Cause family: a home for the London underground and for formats that do not fit in a large venue.

From day to night, at loft scale

Natural light and the canal explain the venue's most characteristic format: day-to-night parties. In the first programming, Charlie Bones, Kasra V, Telephones, Unai Trotti, Percolate, or Wigflex were announced, and the calendar is also open to external promoters. The Tower Hamlets license sets a capacity of 110 people and a closing time on Friday and Saturday at 1:30 AM; later it has only operated with temporary permits. It is not an early morning after-hours: it is an elevated, single-floor dancefloor where you can see the booth and the brick up close.

A canvas over Fish Island

The studio remains a multipurpose space. Club nights, concerts, exhibitions, filming, and community meetings coexist in the same warehouse, consistent with a neighborhood of docks converted into workshops and, later, into dancefloors. Vittoria Wharf Studio does not replace The Cause of Silvertown: it is the small chapter, several floors above the street, for new ideas and for those who want to dance during the day next to the canal.
