The staircase that leads to the dancefloor

Climbing a single flight of stairs, in a concrete block without a large sign, is the gesture with which you enter Wiggle Room Toronto. The club occupies the middle floor of 772 Dundas Street West, above the Carolina pizzeria and below the Hard Luck Bar, one block west of Bathurst, in Trinity-Bellwoods. It opened in 2021 as the permanent home of Wiggly Events, the promoter that since 2014 had been organizing electronic music parties in unconventional spaces until turning that roaming into its own club. The official capacity is 200 people. There is no ramp: the music, the lasers, and that staircase set the tone for the night.

The wigglers' room

The club is not divided into a circuit of dancefloors. There are two adjoining lounges, one with a long red sofa and another around a pool table, plus arcade machines. The decor is supported by light pieces, a tree sculpture, and an LED infinity mirror by Toronto artist Mike Dunn, which draws patterns to the beat. Projections wrap around the dancefloor. Before the New Year's Eve that ushered in 2026, an LED floor designed by Ryan Veteze, from imajin, with custom control by Troy Ess, was installed; in March 2026, a new, wider, and smoother surface was built around it. The restroom is gender-neutral. The result is intimate and handmade, far from the macro-nightclub circuit.

House with bounce and its own label

The club presents itself as the home of house with bounce. The system is a Yorkville Sound Synergy designed by Danley Sound, manufactured at the Pickering plant, and tuned for the room: wide bass, clear mids, and punchy highs. The programming crosses house, techno, tech house, minimal, bass, and tribal, with guests from abroad and a deliberate local base: nearly 95% of the sets are by Canadian artists and almost half by people who do not identify as men. Sunday has a fixed appointment with Sunday SerVice, the weekly industry social hosted by Manzone & Strong. In 2023, Wiggle Room Records was born, the in-house house label, which releases the local scene alongside international names.

A night that is closely monitored

The club is accredited in sexual violence prevention by the Order an Angelot program. From the bar to the coat check and security, the team undergoes that training, and the keyword BANANA serves to ask for help discreetly. There is no dress code, although there is a rule for hygiene and clothing without offensive messages; glasses with hidden cameras are left outside, and photos depend on consent. Across the street, at 769 Dundas Street West, Funk’Shui debuted on New Year's Eve 2025 as a sister club for daytime hours. Wiggle Room keeps the dark slot. In September 2026, upon turning five years old, a weekend with more than 50 artists used both street addresses.
