Ben Sterling's pulse moves between British-rooted house, muscular tech house, and a contemporary reading of acid house. His language stems from a very specific club culture: familiar 70s and 80s disco records, modern electro, the history of Chicago house and Detroit techno, all filtered through production with elastic bass, dry percussion, and energy designed for large booths without losing its underground nerve.

From the Ministry booth to Planet X

His rise began early in London. By age 18, he had already caught attention with a residency at Ministry of Sound, an initial showcase that fit his status as a self-taught DJ with a technique oriented toward continuous groove. The recording momentum arrived with material on ORIGINS RCRDS, including the track Ciao, which attracted support from Jamie Jones and opened the door to Hot Creations. In 2019, he consolidated that stage with The Energy EP and Fantasee, while his music also circulated through labels like Edible, Hottrax, and later Solid Grooves, Diynamic, Crosstown Rebels, and OBLONG.

Edits, own labels, and an increasingly sharp identity

The international turning point arrived in 2022 with his remix of Tiga's Mind Dimension, a piece that amplified his presence on the global circuit. Since then, he has reinforced his own aesthetic through Planet X, a label and event series he directs as a creative hub, and X-Files, a sub-imprint associated with the spirit of white labels, edits, and direct club material. Within that framework, functional references and sonic personality coexist: compact kicks, acid lines, chopped vocals, and a use of bass that looks as much to classic house as it does to the pressure of current dancefloors.

A name established on the international calendar

In recent years, he has released music on benchmark catalogs and signed releases such as Don’t Truss with Caitlyn Scarlett on Crosstown Rebels, Step Forward EP on OBLONG, Tribal Badman on Planet X, as well as later tracks like The Way I Am, Rapture, Hot Line 84’, Und Tanzen, Out Of My Mind with Omar+, and Around The World with Stevie Appleton. His activity as a DJ has grown in parallel, with appearances at spaces and brands such as Club Space Miami, Coachella, DC-10, Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, Paradise, elrow, The Warehouse Project, The BPM Festival, and Time Warp. That combination of catalog, own label, and high-level schedule positions him as one of the most visible British profiles within contemporary house and tech house.
