Skanka, the chorus that set the mega-booths on fire

In the dubstep booths of the United States, Skanka became an inevitable chorus: a vocal hook, a British-weight drop, and the energy of an Oxford producer who until then worked far from the stadiums. DJ Mag placed it as a modern classic of the genre. Skrillex, Subtronics, Of The Trees, Porter Robinson, and Knife Party put it in sets in front of tens of thousands of people. Hamdi, in a soccer jersey and headphones around his neck, was already known in the UK for DJing and rapping at the same time, a gesture that comes from his first nights and that still defines his presence in the booth.

Lengoland, Cellar, and the Brighton laboratory

Dizzee Rascal's grime hooked him as a child; FL Studio and the Document One catalog pushed him into dubstep. He burned demo CDs for the Oxford duo and honed his skills in Lengoland, the Facebook group that also launched Skepsis and Bushbaby. The first sessions were in 2016 at Cellar, the low-ceiling basement in his city. With Sammy Virji, he signed Show Me, a first blow to the British bass scene. In 2017 he moved to Brighton for university, approached the Southpoint label, and DJed non-stop until graduating in 2020, facing the pandemic. An edit of Never Let You Go, by Virji, re-engaged him with the 140 BPM circuit.

Deadbeats, DEEP MEDi, OWSLA, and the heavy remixes

Counting, with Princess Superstar and the Deadbeats label, made all of Red Rocks sing. In 2024, the leap was simultaneous toward worlds that barely touch: Push with Skrillex and TAICHU on OWSLA, the Simplicity EP on Mala's DEEP MEDi MUSIK, Fired Up with Marshmello, and the remix of Disclosure's She's Gone, Dance On. Then came the remix of OK OK, by Fred again... Labels like Bassrush and Vision Recordings complete a catalog that moves between dubstep, UK garage, grime, and bassline, with subsequent collaborations with LYNY, Simula, Casey Club, Cesco, and Taiki Nulight.

Hamdi FC, Chicago, and the club as the measure of everything

The Hamdi FC brand turned the jersey into a stage and tour identity. He debuted at Coachella, played at Red Rocks, joined Fred again.. at Alexandra Palace, and filled the Knockdown Center in New York. In 2024, he settled in Chicago and launched House Warming, a four-week residency at Cermak Hall with Taiki Nulight, Kettama, MPH, and LYNY. The Anywhere & Everywhere and Hamdi FC tours allow him to go from a three-hundred-person club to the Sahara at Coachella without letting go of the genre crossover.
