The energy of HoneyLuv moves between the memory of African American house and the pulse of major international stages. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, she absorbed the 80s and 90s R&B that played at home from a young age, as well as the vocal house her mother played naturally. That foundation appears in her sets and productions: muscular basslines, direct percussion, catchy vocals, and a contemporary reading of the Chicago and Detroit tradition. Her music connects house, tech house, afro house, R&B, and Latin nuances without losing focus on the dancefloor.

From uniform to the booth

Before occupying the booths of benchmark festivals and clubs, Taylor Alexis Character went through college basketball and the United States Navy, where she worked as a drone operator and mechanic. The transition to music took shape in California around 2018, when she began practicing mixing and production as a creative escape. During the pandemic, she gained visibility through digital streams and residencies, and soon turned that domestic momentum into an international career.

The takeoff came with a series of releases that placed her name within the new generation of house. Your Tongue on Insomniac, Thr33 6ix 5ive on Black Book Records, and Sway with Dope Earth Alien received radio support and backing from top-tier artists. In 2023, she was named a Future Star by BBC Radio 1 Dance and was part of the Beatport Next program, while expanding her catalog with collaborations and remixes for Seth Troxler, Melle Brown, Annie Mac, Will Clarke, Harry Romero, Roland Clark, Jamie Jones, and AMÉMÉ. Sex & The City, alongside Seth Troxler and with Paul Johnson as a central reference, reinforced her bond with the Black and Hispanic genealogy of house.

4 Tha Luv as a dancefloor statement

On stage, HoneyLuv has built a reputation for physical, elastic, and groove-oriented sets. Her schedule has taken her to Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Brooklyn Mirage, Space Miami, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Hï Ibiza, and The Beams, in addition to appearing in contexts such as Mixmag, DJ Mag, Defected, ANTS, and b2b sets alongside figures like Idris Elba, Dennis Ferrer, or TSHA. In parallel, her series and label 4 Tha Luv function as an extension of her discourse: a platform designed to celebrate community, open space for queer and BIPOC voices, and return the spotlight to the music rather than the DJ's ego. With recent releases such as Dancehall, Fever, Waymo, Euro Flow, Don’t Stop, and I Need U, HoneyLuv maintains an ascending position within the global house circuit.
