Monika Kruse was born on July 23, 1971, in Berlin, Germany, but grew up and developed artistically in the city of Munich. Her deep passion for music began at an early age, taking classical piano lessons during her childhood and developing an unconditional love for funk, soul, and hip-hop rhythms. In the early nineties, the emergence of the electronic sound radically transformed her artistic vision. In 1991, she began taking her first steps as a professional DJ, forging an impeccable reputation in the Bavarian underground scene thanks to iconic residencies at clubs like Parkcafé and the legendary Ultraschall parties. Her immense technical skill, combined with her ability to create immersive atmospheres on the dance floor, catapulted her to the forefront of the national circuit, becoming a fundamental figure for the consolidation of the burgeoning German club culture.

Terminal M and Music Production

Seeking an independent platform for her sonic vision, Monika Kruse took a transcendental step in the year 2000 by founding the prestigious record label Terminal M. This label has established itself as an undisputed standard for dynamic and hard-hitting techno worldwide. Through this label, she has released her own albums, such as Panorama and Changes of Perception, and has mentored countless producers from the global scene. In the creative realm, her talent was immortalized with the release of Latin Lovers in 2003, a massive success that fused percussive and tribal rhythms with an overwhelming techno base. Furthermore, her celebrated collaborative project Monika Kruse @ Voodooamt, developed alongside producer Patrick Lindsey, left a catalog of avant-garde tracks that defined the dance floor aesthetic of the early new millennium in Europe.
