The phoenix that filled stadiums with future bass

A Bassnectar concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in the summer of 2012 ignited the career of ILLENIUM: the most cinematic and vulnerable future bass in the American scene, with the phoenix as an emblem of a public recovery following a heroin overdose that same year. The project took shape in Denver, after a childhood spent between Downers Grove (Illinois), Seattle, France, and San Francisco, and from there it scaled to Madison Square Garden, the Staples Center, Allegiant Stadium, Empower Field at Mile High, and, in 2026, a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Nest HQ, Kasaya, and the Ashes leap

He began producing in 2008 and debuted with a self-titled EP in 2013 (Prep School Recordings), followed by Risen (2014). In 2015, I'll Be Your Reason was released on Nest HQ, the platform linked to Skrillex, and established that intersection of yearning vocals, bright synthesizers, and heavy bass that would define his signature. Ashes (2016), released on Seeking Blue and his own label Kasaya Recordings, was his first studio album and reached the top 10 of the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The remix of Don't Let Me Down by The Chainsmokers skyrocketed on SoundCloud, and his remix of Say It by Flume won Remix of the Year at the 2017 Electronic Music Awards.

The trilogy that reached number 1

Awake (2017) landed him on the Billboard 200 and left behind anthems like Feel Good, with Gryffin and Daya (platinum), and Crawl Outta Love, distinguished at the International Songwriting Competition. Ascend (2019, Astralwerks), his major-label debut, topped the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, reached number 14 on the Billboard 200, and included Good Things Fall Apart with Jon Bellion (double platinum), Takeaway with The Chainsmokers and Lennon Stella, and Take You Down, where he recounted his addiction. The tour, featuring a live band, sold out three nights at Red Rocks. Fallen Embers (2021) earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album and the Billboard Music Award in that category. The self-titled album ILLENIUM (2023) pushed his sound toward electronic rock and pop-punk, with guests such as Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker.

Odyssey, Ember Shores, and the Sphere scale

In 2021, he was the first artist to headline a concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas with Trilogy; in 2023, he brought that formula to Empower Field at Mile High, a capacity milestone for an electronic headliner in the United States. His destination festival Ember Shores, on the coast of Quintana Roo, gathers that community—the Illenials—every year. In February 2026, he released Odyssey (Republic Records), his sixth studio album, with collaborations including Ellie Goulding, Kid Cudi, and Bring Me The Horizon, and presented it with a nine-show residency at the Sphere. He was featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 music list (2020) and ranked 64th and 43rd on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list (2019 and 2020).
