The laser that turned an ID into an EDC anthem

Laserbeam reshuffled festival dubstep in 2022: released on Disciple, it topped the Beatport Dubstep and iTunes Electronic charts, debuted on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic chart, and became the most played dubstep track of the year, as well as the most listened to at EDC Las Vegas 2022. He hadn't even debuted at that venue yet and it was already its chorus. Remixes by Hardwell and Chris Lake pushed the cut towards house, and the producer tag Volpetron went from a fan joke to a stage identity.

Twelve years old, Call of Duty montages and Ableton

He started producing at the end of 2010, at twelve years old, between Call of Duty montages and FL Studio. He soon switched to Ableton Live and in 2012 decided to sign his music under his own name. His first record deal arrived in 2013; the following year Excision started playing his tracks. In 2014 he opened the alias Kuso Kurae for house and softer pieces, while the main project was anchored in heavy bass. In 2016, with his first agency and money earned from a sample pack, he bought CDJs and started DJing. Born in Queens, on Long Island, he grew up in the suburbs of Charlotte and ended up settled in Los Angeles, with a sound he describes as commercial dubstep: brostep-era bass, emo and metalcore melodies, and his own vocals.

From Disciple to Monstercat, the bass you can sing along to

After official remixes—including Getter on OWSLA—and stints on Never Say Die and Subsidia, he signed to Disciple and followed up with Rise Of The Volpetron (2021) and Legend Of The Volpetron (2022). The jump to Monstercat came with The Dead March alongside Sullivan King and the EP VOLPETRON ASCENDS (2023), featuring anthems like HAPPY SONG and EAT SLEEP RAGE. The Electronic Dance Music Awards named him Best New Artist of 2023. He has closed the Storm stage at Rampage Open Air, debuted at the Basspod stage at EDC Las Vegas in 2023, and has performed at Lost Lands, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, and Bass Canyon, with collaborations from Marshmello, NGHTMRE, Virtual Riot, Wooli, or RUNN. SEE YOU DROP and SONG REQUEST extended his streak of most-played dubstep tracks; the latter became the anthem for the third period of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2025-2026 season.

FOREVER, VOLPETRON: sold out, Zouk and Circuit Grounds

In September 2025, he released his debut album FOREVER, VOLPETRON on VOLPEVERSE, with REWIND and SONG REQUEST as the centerpieces of an audiovisual show. The tour sold over 50,000 tickets, with sold-out shows at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Mission Ballroom, Radius, Echostage, and Terminal 5; the VOLPEVERSE format also filled the Hollywood Palladium. In 2026, he debuted a residency at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas and finally took the stage at Circuit Grounds at EDC Las Vegas, with a full set of almost an hour. Remixes for Illenium and for Skrillex and Young Miko position him as a bridge between festival bass and mass-market electronic pop, now on the Volpetron Eternal tour.
