Jennifer Cardini

Born on February 22, 1974, in Monaco, Jennifer Cardini is a prominent DJ, producer, and label owner who has been a vital force in the underground electronic music scene for over three decades. Raised on the French Riviera, she later moved to Paris, where she became a key figure in French nightlife and club culture before settling in Germany (first in Cologne and, later, in Berlin).

Early Steps and Rise in Paris

Jennifer Cardini grew up influenced by artists like Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and Aphex Twin, as well as the Italo disco and synth-driven sound her parents listened to. She began DJing in 1994 in the south of France, honing her style independently. However, it was in 1998, after moving to Paris, that her career took off. She became a resident at the prestigious Automatik parties at Rex Club and, shortly after, at the legendary Le Pulp club, a key epicenter of Parisian lesbian and queer culture. In this environment of freedom and avant-garde, Cardini solidified her reputation thanks to her versatility in mixing House, Electro, Indie Dance, and a dark, suggestive Techno.

Founding of Correspondant and Dischi Autunno

In 2011, after forging a close relationship with the influential German label Kompakt and figures like Michael Mayer, Cardini founded her own record label: Correspondant. Named in honor of her successful residency at Rex Club, the label quickly became an essential platform for the Indie Dance sound and progressive electronica, launching numerous international talents. Later, driven by her insatiable musical curiosity, she created a second label, Dischi Autunno, oriented toward more experimental territories, electronic rock, and indie sounds. More recently, she has added the Færies Records project, further channeling her artistic vision and multidisciplinary commitment.

Queer Activism and Global Recognition

Beyond her undeniable talent behind the decks, Jennifer Cardini is a staunch advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and the creation of safe and inclusive spaces on the dance floor. Her experience in the Paris queer scene deeply shaped her clubbing philosophy, which she spreads in each of her performances. She has taken her message and her electrifying musical selection to world-renowned festivals such as Tomorrowland, Sónar, Nuits Sonores, and MUTEK, in addition to being a regular guest on platforms like HÖR Berlin and Boiler Room. Her dynamic sets, especially in b2b formats with artists like Pablo Bozzi, demonstrate her masterful ability to make genres like Italo Disco, EBM, and Dark Disco converse with relentless energy.
