Heavy basslines, driving drums, and a restrained melodic sensibility have made Julian Fijma one of the most visible additions to the European house, minimal, and deep tech circuit. Hailing from Enkhuizen and based in Hoorn, near Amsterdam, his career has developed from a club scene deeply connected to the Netherlands, Ibiza, and the UK, with an identity oriented towards the dancefloor but meticulous in production detail.

From local momentum to benchmark labels

His progression began to take shape with the EP The Way on Airtime Records, a release that caught the attention of names like East End Dubs, Rossi, Prunk, Archie Hamilton, and Sidney Charles. He later consolidated that momentum with Sweet Resonance on WYLD, a release that reached number one on the Beatport Minimal/Deep Tech chart. The relationship with the Eastenderz environment was key in the next stage: there he released ENDZ055 in 2023 and later Bad City, as well as tracks that reinforced his connection to the minimalist sound, elastic bass, and club percussion.

A signature of bass, synthesis, and club pressure

Fijma's music moves between modern house, tech house, and the minimal/deep tech aesthetic, with direct kicks, dry groove, refreshing synthesizers, and hypnotic layers. His recent catalog includes releases such as Times Lost on PIV Club, Slammin on UNLISH, Shake Your Body alongside ALISHA on neXup recz, and Get Stupid on tszr. The latter track became his biggest turning point: after circulating as a viral ID and receiving support in clubs and festivals, it reached the global Beatport number one in 2025 and expanded his recognition beyond the minimal niche.

DJ booths connected between Amsterdam, Ibiza, and the UK

In the booth, Fijma has been accumulating presence in circuits such as Resident Advisor, Amnesia Ibiza, Thuishaven, Colorado Charlie, and 528 Ibiza, with particularly visible activity in Amsterdam, Ibiza, London, and Manchester. His set at Colorado Charlie, Netherlands, broadcast by blanc, summarizes his current position well: a young selector with functional punch, dancefloor reading, and an already recognizable sound. With support from established artists, releases on specialized labels, and an increasingly international schedule, Julian Fijma occupies an ascending place within European house with a deep groove and contemporary focus.
