Vinyl, tension and booth criteria

The culture of vinyl and the patient work of digging place LAIA in a dancefloor zone where technical precision coexists with a very physical intuition. Her language has been built from the booth and the dancefloor: long mixes, groove control and a narrative way of dosing pressure, rest and acceleration. Based in Madrid and with roots in Barcelona, her journey starts from the underground clubs of Barcelona, travels through Europe and a self-taught practice at home with two Technics that ended up becoming a professional career.

Barcelona under her skin, Madrid as a testing ground

Her name has been consolidating in the European circuit through spaces closely linked to club techno. She has performed in booths such as The Bassement, Moog, Gare Porto, Suicide Club, Rashomon Club, Perron and Tresor / Globus, in addition to appearing in contexts such as Basilar Festival, Laster Club, OFFBCN and international lineups. Her schedule connects her with cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Berlin, within a scene where her selection and her pulse in the booth have progressively gained weight.

Raw techno, archive house and hip-hop memory

The sound of LAIA does not function as a closed label. It can lean towards raw, rhythmic and hypnotic techno, with flashes of Detroit and a clear attraction to the Birmingham school, but also lower the BPMs to explore house, minimal, electro and ghetto house. Her musical criteria maintain a deep connection with hip-hop, a base influence that runs through her way of understanding rhythm, phrasing and tension. Among her references are Ben Sims, Surgeon, Moodymann or Óscar Mulero, along with labels like Ostgut Ton, Dance Mania or LIES Records.

A production that is starting to take shape

In 2025 she opened a stage also focused on production with Within Reach, released on Silencio Records within the charity compilation SL002, a project of eight female artists aimed at supporting breast cancer awareness and donating profits to Europa Donna. That first step in the studio expands an identity already recognizable in the booth: careful selection, contained energy and a reading of the dancefloor that combines rawness, elegance and purpose.
