A rave collage between Detroit, Lyon and the British club scene

LB aka LABAT's sets sound like crossed wires: filtered house, Detroit techno, UK garage, hard house, and drum and bass coexist within the same hour of dancing, with one foot in the fever of nineties raves and the other in the hybridizations of the contemporary club. He doesn't chase a genre: he chases the impact of the sample, the sweat of the dancefloor, and that mix of euphoria and melancholy that turns a banger into something you can also listen to on the way home.

Inherited turntables and fifty-euro techno

Born in Strasbourg in 1993, he grew up between France and India, where he spent four years at an English school. He started DJing at seven years old after inheriting turntables from his older brother, a fan of hip hop and scratching. By fifteen, he was already playing in clubs—fifty euros a set, his mother waiting at the exit—with a marked preference for Detroit techno and minimal, and with escapes to rave across the German border. At twenty, he moved to Lyon, started a residency at Café Galerie, and dedicated himself to DJing. Very soon, an invitation to Nuits Sonores arrived, followed by his first set for Boiler Room. Since then, he hasn't stopped touring.

Cassettes, Alélah, and the Poumpet sprint

He debuted in 2015 with the limited cassette People of Anoubiz, Vol. 1. A year later, the double album Disques Solaires, released by Groovedge, consolidated his more vaporous side: deep house, downtempo, and instrumental hip hop. In 2017, he co-founded Alélah Records with Polow and released music as Original Ledoux; in 2018, Fake Memories pushed that universe of beat tapes. The EPs for D.KO, Steel City Dance Discs, and his label Poumpet Records—launched in 2022 with the challenge of one track per month—accelerated the tempo: Nimbus 2000, Skincare, and Hangout with LB aka LABAT & Friends, with remixes by KiNK, Sally C, and KETTAMA. The British and Australian circuit became dancefloor family: Mall Grab, Partiboi69, Skin On Skin. He has sold out Trabendo in less than 24 hours, has played at Rex Club and KOKO, at Awakenings, ADE, and Mixmag Lab, and his Boiler Room at FLY Open Air 2023 became one of his most recognizable postcards.

Because Music and the 2026 dance machine

Feel So Good Around U, released on February 27, 2026, on Because Music, is his first album conceived in a professional studio and as a team, after almost fifteen years of producing solo. There is guitar at 160 bpm with Skin On Skin, ghetto-tech with DJ Fuckoff, club pop with Memphis LK, a nod to French Touch with Pedro Winter, and a track in Spanish with MJ Nebreda. He presents it in an audiovisual live show developed with the Parisian studio CESTAINSI. Today, based in Paris and with worldwide management by a4system, he continues to cross genres with the same obsession: that the club remains a free, hybrid, and generous space.
