Beginnings and Multicultural Roots

Yassine Ben Achour, known worldwide as Loco Dice, was born on August 10, 1974, in Düsseldorf, Germany, into a family of immigrants from Tunisia. His youth was strongly marked by a multicultural environment that influenced his broad musical perspective. His passion was sparked at home listening to soul and funk, enriched by the folk melodies of North Africa during his vacations in Tunisia. It was there he acquired his nickname, as he would watch his grandfather play backgammon and collect the dice. The prefix 'Loco' emerged years later, describing his inexhaustible energy during nights in Ibiza.

From Hip-Hop to the Electronic Scene

Before establishing himself as a leader of Techno and Tech House, Loco Dice was deeply immersed in the Hip-Hop movement. In the 90s, he began his journey as a DJ and rapper under the aliases Dice C and Dice Corleone. His skill led him to perform as an opening act for legends such as Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Usher. In the early 2000s, driven by his experiences in Ibiza and supported by figures like Timo Maas, he made his definitive transition to dance music. He secured a legendary residency at the Tribehouse club in his hometown, which fueled his meteoric rise in Europe.

Music Production and the Desolat Label

In the realm of production, Loco Dice made his official arrival in electronic music with his successful single 'Phat Dope Shit' in 2002. His unique style, which fuses punchy basslines with immersive atmospheres, allowed him to release on cult labels such as M-nus, Ovum, and Cocoon. In 2007, he founded the influential record label Desolat together with producer Martin Buttrich, an essential platform for new underground talent. There, he released his acclaimed debut album '7 Dunham Place' (2008), followed by standout works like 'Underground Sound Suicide' (2015) and 'Love Letters' (2018).

Global Impact and Creative Projects

For decades, Loco Dice has remained in the absolute elite of club culture. His sets have led him to headline historic residencies at iconic Ibiza clubs such as DC-10 (with Circoloco), Amnesia, and Space. He is an undisputed headliner at titans like Tomorrowland, Time Warp, and Coachella. His creative passion also transcends music; he ventured into fashion by collaborating with brands like Daily Paper, launched his own streetwear brand called Serán Bendecidos, and composed soundtracks for runways by designer Marcelo Burlon. His immense talent makes him an unparalleled ambassador of electronic music.
