The morning the inbox wouldn't stop

The day after uploading My Love For You—his reinterpretation of Yebba's Heartbreak by Drake and Yebba—in the summer of 2022, Marten Lou found his inbox flooded with messages from all over the world. The track, released from Paris, stopped being a bedroom experiment and opened the door to labels like OVO, FFRR, Warner Music, and Atlantic.

A childhood award and two rejections in Germany

Born and raised in Bonn, in North Rhine-Westphalia, he sat at the piano at age eight and later added saxophone and drums. At ten, he won a composition award in his city for Am Ende der Welt; by twelve, he was already producing at home. At eighteen, he was rejected twice by a German production academy. Instead of slowing down, he returned to Paris—where he had already spent an exchange year—and earned a living in a Franco-German kindergarten while landing his first gigs in bars and clubs.

The label, the radio, and the alliances

In 2023, he debuted on Warner Music Central Europe with the EP No One Like You. Then came the remix of Another Life by Naomi Sharon for OVO Sound, the reinterpretations of Miss You—Robin Schulz and Oliver Tree—and Places—Elderbrook and Shimza—, and a catalog supported by Keinemusik, Adriatique, WhoMadeWho, Bedouin, BLOND:ISH, and CamelPhat. Pete Tong presented the EP and My Love For You as essential on BBC Radio 1. In March 2025, he released Your Body; followed by Late Night with Foals, Save Me with CamelPhat, the EP You alongside ORI, Need You with Colyn—whom he had asked for a photo at Watergate years earlier—, Hideaway with LUCH, and Technicolor with Rivo.

From the Heineken House to the whale skeleton

In 2024, he took over the Heineken House at Coachella for both weekends and played at Burning Man. In 2025, he went up to Igloofest in Montreal, the Crystal Garden at Tomorrowland, Untold, and Space in Miami, with dates also in Ibiza, New York, São Paulo, Dubai, and Mykonos. In 2026, he was on the cover of Mixmag Latin America and the Caribbean, headliner at the Knockdown Center in New York, artist at the Cercle Festival at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, protagonist of a night at the Natural History Museum in London, Piknic Électronik in Montreal, and Green Valley in Brazil. His international booking is managed by Dabruck Creative.
