The crisp snap of the snare and the hypnotic groove of Matt Sassari have become one of the most recognizable signatures in tech house and techno coming out of Marseille. His sound—percussive, functional, and built to keep the dancefloor moving—leaped from specialized DJ booths to global charts when Give It To Me surpassed one billion streams and racked up gold and platinum certifications in over twenty countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

Intec, Cr2, and the first Beatport number one

At fourteen, while training as a soccer player, he stepped into a club for the first time and was hooked on electronic music. He learned to program in Ableton Live and began sending tracks to labels like Potobolo Records and Deeperfect. Since 2012, he has released over a hundred references: first in the orbit of techno and dancefloor tech house, with collaborations alongside Spencer K, Enrico Sangiuliano, or Ant Brooks, and with Panterre Musique, the label he launched together with Matt Mor.

Support from the scene arrived in 2016 with Fired Up on Intec Digital, Carl Cox's label, and with pieces on Relief Records and DFTD. A remix of Green Velvet's La La Land followed, along with work with Adam Beyer, Dubfire, Patrik Berg, and Umek. In 2019, he was a resident DJ at Tanzhaus West in Frankfurt, and that same year Put A Record On, his first single for Cr2 Records, reached the global number one spot on Beatport.

Give It To Me, Ushuaïa, and the crossover between club and festival

In 2021, Give It To Me—an official adaptation of the Timbaland classic featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake—became a club, streaming, and TikTok phenomenon, achieving platinum status in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom and gold in the United States. The success did not dilute his dancefloor identity: he continued releasing on Truesoul, Glasgow Underground, and Drumcode, and signed subsequent anthems like It Feels So Good with HUGEL and Sonique, Elektro with SIDEPIECE, Close Your Eyes with Dillon Francis and James Carter, Lost in Sound with Alan Fitzpatrick, Baiana alongside CHRSTPHR and Barbatuques, and Crazy with David Guetta and Jack Back.

On stage, he has taken that repertoire to Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Awakenings, and a summer residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza alongside Kygo. Founder of the SASS label and with regular support from Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Green Velvet, John Summit, Joseph Capriati, Chris Liebing, and Nicole Moudaber, Sassari moves today between club culture and major stages—with around nine million monthly listeners on Spotify—without ever losing the dancefloor pulse that made him recognizable.
